Ok gang, a little test for you...

My Fiero is exhibiting these signs:

I smell antifreeze in the car.
My windows fog up when I turn on the defogger.
The coolant level is dropping.

What can it mean?

A) The clutch hydraulics are screwed again.
B) The wheel alignment is out.
C) The heater core is leaking.
D) None of the above--- suggestions please.

I Would have to say that your heater core is leaking. I have also heard that overhead gauges,(oil, volt, etc) like to steam up also. Many people on the "other list" have spoken of these symotoms before, and it was, I believe, always the heater core. Shouldn't be too hard to replace (they said), but then again, it isn't the most fun Fiero repair to do. I have never had one go, or have to replace one, so I am just going on what I've heard.

I had the same problem. I replaced the factory dash speakers with some Pioneer 4x10s and problem solved.....

Hope this helps!

I thought you guys could have some fun with this.

Looks like I'll be pulling the heater core out this weekend.

"...honey making termites..." ??? Now that's really weird!

It's probably a combination of the termites, and that you may have one of the few cars that has the auto-fumigation option, that's really bug killer when you turn on the fan.A common option for the cars delivered to woodsy regions such as BC.

Just bypass the heater core Patrick, you don't need a heater up there in Canada with those mild winters, ya wimp (haha).

The fiero is the easiest car I have ever changed heater cores in. It took me 20 minutes for the swap and I was back on the road.
