I'm looking at one, partnumber 656-102
it's only $19.99 but I'm curious will it fit or not. Not only whether the connector is right but is there also enough space next to the plenum......somebody tried it?

You need an adpter to go from the schrader valve to the NPT of the gauge.

I found this topic by searching, as I would like to have a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail too.

Why couldnt you just remove the schrader valve assembly (it has a nut on the bottom) and then install from the NPT fittings from there? At least, this is how it looks, I havent removed mine just yet but it would seem as if they would be NPT threads...

Any more insight to this mod?

Hey guys, I just happen to have a fuel rail for the 2.8 sitting right here. I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator installed on it, so the gauge idea interests me too.

I took off the Schraeder valve and checked out the threads (see pic below). I have some brass 1/4" NPT fittings against which to compare it. The threads on the Schraeder valve are definately NPT; the thread pitch matches up perfectly with my brass fittings. However, the threaded end of the Schraeder valve is about half the diameter of my 1/4" NPT fittings... so I'm guessing it's 1/8" NPT.

Now, in the Jeg's catalog it doesn't specify the thread type of the gauge (part # 656-102), however the gauges just below it (VDO, Holley, etc) all use 1/8" NPT fittings... which means they should thread directly into your fuel rail. But I seriously doubt the gauge would fit under the intake plenum if you installed it directly on the fuel rail. Probably the best thing to do would be to piece together a 90-degree bend so you'd have the gauge sticking out the side of the intake plenum. A short piece of 1/4"OD tubing (can you say "brake line"?) and some 1/8" NPT to 1/4"OD compression fittings would probably do the trick.

Great! You beat me to it, I was going to remove mine today and check it out. I was thinking of just getting a tee so I could still have the scrader valve on there for pressure release (if I have to take off a fuel line or whatever) I guess I could just pull the fuel pump fuse, hmm...

I have access to a lot of brass fittings cheap, I work at a Ace Hardware. Im thinking you could put a 90 on the back of the gauge, and then just a short nipple down into the fuel rail. I would stick with NPT fittings, they fit a little better than flare or compression.
