I'd check with Bengal. He's running a Kevlar setup on a 3800 that I may try next time. I've also heard good things about Spec (I think these are still beying tried out though) and Archie's Centerforce clutch.
I really like the WCF clutch, hope they get the clutch company problem fixed.

Try just cutting a hole in the floorpan and just push it with your feet! I think that would be pretty cheap as well and alot less work! LMK, If it work's...
I think it depends totally on what your doing with the engine. If its mostly stock with maybe pulley upgrades then you wont need as much clutch.
the spec clutches havent really been used much, but should be soon. Archies are being used in many SBC swaps and work well. Very Very light clutch pedal. Boilermaker does like the WCF clutch. He's done 2 that I know of. Skitime, I believe, is using Archies clutch. If you get crazy, you can go with a quartermaster clutch like Cal Kid or Artherd. but thats very expensive and not needed for less than 350 or so LbFt.
Ohand dont listen to Smooth, Hes from Texas. Oh wait, So are you nevermind that. =Þ ------------------ Two 88FORMULAS Red & Yellow SSFiero@Aol.com

Why not a centerforce, for a 5.7l firebird... Tis what I've been useing for about 2 months, with no slips or problems, so far... other than some missfires on cyl 4, but thats a wiring issue.

im using a borg warner brute force clutch in my 3.2L thats what ALL napa's sell around here. My car was dyno'd at 211lbs at the wheels and 152HP and it holds up just fine, with no slips, but id recommend archies setup for a 3800 series one or two supercharged, but on my 3800 series one n/a im going to use a brute force also.

9-11/16" Kev/Kev pressure plate parts half manufactured and half lost in a trade dispute between 3 countries and McLeod focusing all energy on this one single pressure plate design to fill 5,000 orders - bad
Sintered Iron - in stock
as well as everything else except that friggen 9-11/16" p.plate - if Arch can make it happen for you than go for it. Boilermaker has got to be the luckiest man on earth, he received his 2nd clutch out of 1 set that happened to be left over after Carol Shelby bought all 1,000 units for his 4.9 cars, and the last one before the entire manufacturing mess - I thinks Im gonna have boiler buy me a lottery ticket

Eric, I have heard that the S10 3.8 HAS a 9 11/16 clutch and pressure plate....do you think that would be the same as the one ya'll were selling? Well with a better clutch. Boilermaker?? your thoughts?

I'm not really an expert. I just know what has proven itself to me. WCF's 9 11/16 pressure plate and friction disc has proven itself to me thus far without any problems. I have never tried the smaller PP, but figure that if it is good on Archie's (isn't he using the smaller PP?) then it's got to be good for us.
I think we are starting to see the aftermarket for our clutches open up though. There are some good products out there to try and test. I'm all up for trying out another product IF this one fails on me.

I have a 3800 SC motor in my 87 GT running with a 5 speed Getrag. I have no slippage and have done burnouts and experimenting to get a fast off the line time.
Anyway, I have a double diaphram pressure plate with a kevlar/organic disc. I had this made to hold 350 HP. It works beautifully so far. i have about 1000 miles on the clutch so far. My current 0-60 time is 5.0 seconds.
The brand is Clutchnet. You can talk to Igor at www.clutchnet.com. It cost me $420 shipped to my door.
