I believe it was GTDude that was working on these, which I still think are the best looking design (no offense to the makers of the other rigs!) I've seen.
I was really hyped about doing these, but they seem to have drifted off into the mist...
Is it possible to at least get the plans for them?

Well THANK YOU! I think they're pretty kewl looking too.....something different for sure.
Actually, the prototypes are finished and work quite well. They look great! I'm just not happy about the way they are mounted though. Once I get the mounting issue solved they will be for sale. Not sure of an exact price, but somewhere around $250 for the set is what I am expecting. The 4 headlamps alone are over $100 so if I can build them for my projected $250 it will actually be a bargain, I feel.
Hope to have more info, hopefully that they are available for sale within the next month. Hang in there......LOL. Thanks.

Since the lights are (I assume?) off the shelf parts - will it be possible to get it all, less the lights? Would save a heap of trouble in shipping too (breakage). Not to mention I get really great prices on things like that through my wholesalers here.

Well, that's the problem. Yes, you can do it with off the shelf parts, but they are incredibly expensive. For instance just the HL buckets to fit these HL's are over $50 a piece wholesale. The HL sealed beams are $25 apiece, so just the buckets and sealed beams would be over $300 without the rest of the stuff.
Actually, anything that will possibly need replacing can be purchased at radio shack mostly or an auto parts store. I'm building the HL buckets to save that money.
Sure I don't see why I couldn't ship them without the lamps and you buy and install them when you install the kit.
Will let you guyz know when they are ready. Thanks.

Bingo! That's exactly what I was thinking. Also, along with the high potential for damage, there's also the volume of shipping an empty glass bottle (the lamps), and the weight of it. Sometimes shipping something like that almost exceeds the cost of the item itself.
Keep us posted - I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Not trying to rob GTDude of this post, but Cool Custom Cars does something similar with his 355 replicas. Might be something to look into for those interested.

That looks great, but do the covers move up and down? Thats what I like cause you can keep them covered until you want to see them. I'm working on perfecting a "simple" design for my car at the present.

Precisely why I like *your* design the best of them all so far! I'm planning on painting my car this summer, and I'd really like to have this mod done before I do it.
Think you could send over some preliminary plans, pictures, something?
(But RCR, do tell if these do go up/down!)

Possibly so, but I'm glad I waited because through rethinking some things I can make it simpler and with fewer parts and more sturdy and reliable.
Basically, I just need to get off my butt and just do it.........LOL!
Really been wanting to do it so maybe this will push me over the edge.....lol.
The second that I am satisfied with everything I will post it on the Forum. Including pics and prob diagrams if I get a chance. I even had one designed in my head that would slide down a piece of smoked plexiglass, cut one slightly larger to the size of the opening. Use pieces of window track with felt inside. These will be held to the roof panel with epoxy of some type. So your bracket will be rectangular from the bottom, twice as long as it is wide roughly. With the smoked plexiglass positioned inside of it. The extreme upper area......past the end of the plexiglass slide will be a small motor that pushes and pulls the plexiglass panel. LOL........what a pain in the butt.
