water and checking with a multimeter.

What should i have the multimeter switched to and what numbers should i expect from cold water warming to boiling?

Yet another thing, if there was air around the sensor would that trigger codes 14 and 15?

Btw jazz if ya read this could you put the link to your post where you have a picture of all the sensors and switches at the water pump?

Ivan.

the temp gauge sending unit has two pins on it.
one pin is for the gauge and one for the light.

at 100F there should be 1400 ohms between the pin and the base of the sensor.
at 260F there should be 55 ohms.

i am not sure at what temp the pin for the light should close and have 0 ohms between it and the base, but I would expect it to be an open circuit at least up to 220F

i have to leave the house to put a roof shell on Ling.

if you still need more help when i get back i'll put up some pics.

on a good note, its my last error code, code 14.

The V6 sensors in the manifold, left to right ECM temp sensor, radiator fan switch, and cold start injector switch:

At the left corner of the rear head, just below the coil bracket, is the guage sensor:

i've already got dibs on the pickup coil replacement, and plan on redoing my Gen I headlight rebuild.

if you wanna get to it before i do, i would really like to see a write up on the 4 freaking different temp sensors, where they go, what they look like and what each one controls.

as an added note, this gauge temp sensor has the factory style plug, and the plug itself is still in good contition.
both are rare to see on a car with any real miles on it.
very pretty.
