It's coming out soon or has already!! This is the 2.0 with the supercharger a 2.2 is also available no supercharger. These are GM H.P. crate motors. Oh ya 205 H.P. Is an adaptor plate needed with this motor?

At the GM crate motor web site they have the 2.0 SC ecotech listed for 3600.00 and the 2.2 at 1900.00. Still need to know if this motor needs an adaptor and what ecm you would use?

THis is what I found, 205 Horsepower @ 5600 RPM and 200 lb-ft @ 4000 RPM torque • This engine powers the Saturn ION Redline, this is the 2.0 SC crate motor.

Yes it does need an adapter plate, the Ecotec's ECM is built into the wiring harness, but I personally am going with a stand alone ECM, simply because of the power amounts I'm aiming for. Plus my Fiero's stock electrical system is messed up :P

Hey Turbo. You are going all the way and building up your Ecotec. What do you think it would take just to put in a bone stock 2.2 Ecotec on the standard Isuzu 5-speed?

The main things it would take are custom motor mounts and the adapter plate. I believe a flexplate spacer is needed for automatic versions, but that's an easy one. The guy who made my adapter also can make those.
The harness that comes with the motor is needed, and it has the ECM on it, plus there's odds and ends, such as modding the throttle linkage, (will require a new bracket by the TB), and there's all the fuel and water lines too, but that's what flexble braided steel hose is for.
For the water lines, since there isn't a thermostat housing on the Eco, an in-line t-joint with a cap on it will be needed to fill coolant back by the motor, but those are available from Jegs.
For those that have flushed the coolant system in a Fiero before, you'll know that you have to fill the coolant up front AND in back, otherwise, it won't work.
With the Ecotec, A/C will work in my car for sure, because I converted to R-134 in 2002. Unless the Fiero's stock A/C compressor miraculously fits, which I doubt it will, then no dice on R-12. I will try and see if my duke's compressor fits at some point. --- Like I said... kit in progress. Patience is a virtue.

The Ecotec, assembled with all accessories, is 305lbs. No power steering pump in a Fiero's case, so about 300lbs. The block by itself is 69lbs.
Anyone know the weight of a duke, fully assembled?
Reguardless, the estimates I have currently place the weight balance of the car at 49/51 (front/rear) with the Ecotec in there, and the battery relocated up front, along with the car's weight dropping from 2560lbs into the 2400lb range.
I'm sure you all know the benefits of lighter vehicle, and also a better balanced vehicle;
They have it currently in the saturn ion redline. As many company's have been doing lately the motor is a touch under rated, it's been proven to make 197 HP at the wheels
Um, yeah. Ralpy, that turbo Ecotec isn't too loved by the J-body community. The lack of a blow-off valve turns alot of people off.
Seriously, it's stupid to not have one. Not having one only shortens the life of the turbo, and the car sounds less cool without that "pssshhst" sound.
Edit* Companies under-rate the power to reduce insurance costs. IE, less horsepower, less of a liability the car is to the insurance theives... I.. I mean companies
