I used DeWalt Cobalt drill bits and they didin't have much trouble going through the cradle.
I also have a set of cradle bushings in Polyurethane to install and a full poly bushing kit coming for the rest of the car. Should help to stabilize this 4.9 powered platform pretty well. I just replaced struts n shocks and had it alligned. At speed---like 95mph or so it sometimes starts shifting wildly back and forth as if the rear end was steering instead of the front. Paulcal came over and helped me to identify a problem---it appears the front cradle bushings are allowing the cradle to move back and forth about 3/8" which would definately cause the symptoms that I have been feeling. Little by little, upgrade by upgrade, the car will get tighter and tighter until it is correct.
Have fun-Be safe

I just did the front swaybar in back too. the corners of my cradle didnt seem to strong, so I added some plate on the corners. other than that, its a pretty easy job. It was a rainy weekend, so I didnt some "practicing" in a large vacant parking lot. With both sway bars being the same size, both with poly end links, rubber center links, the front pushes on the gas, let off the gas, and the rear comes loose. very predictable & controllable. love it. cant wait to try it on dry pavement. my tires are crying tho. leaving black circles. The rear suspension seems ALOT tighter - like the springs are 2x as stiff - very reluctant to movement. My complaint is I cant jack the car by the rear of the cradle anymore.

That is a perfect article. I was going to have someone install the bar for me, but now I may try it myself...

by the way, the article says that this will cause more understeer (plowing of the front end) and less warning of the rear end stepping out. I heard of the less warning thing, but I thought it would REDUCE understeer?

Well,
I'm not sure about the understeer thing but it does stay flatter in the turns and it was really easy to install. I used existing holes in my lower control arms and just drilled new holes in my cradle for the greasable swaybar bushings purchased at Pep Boys.---
