There's always been this faint ticking sound which seemed hardless (hopefully). Well today, I was going over a speedbump and basically stopped before it and stayed in 2nd, and started moving forward again over the bump and I didn't keep on the gas. The RPMs dropped to around 400-500 and I started hearing a dreaded TOCK TOCK sound for about 3 seconds. I'm guessing not enough oil was circulating since the oil pump is dependant on how fast the RPM is going. I babied it home, and thus far have not heard that tocking noise again luckily, just the regular sligh ticking. Was any major harm done? I just had a oil change less than 1000miles ago, I'm going to change it again soon and hope no metal bits are about. I love my car, any replies is very appreciated.

Now everytime I turn off my car, I hear a quick 2-3 "tocking" sound, definitely wasn't there before. Doesn't make the sound when driving or idling. Anyone?

You might be hearing some Dieseling, lugging the engine at low rpms can make that sound too. You might want to pulll your sparkplugs out and check them for carbon build up and check your timing if applicable.

Thank you! Infact I've known for a little while the plugs have carbon built up, didn't think about that, makes sense! I really appreciate your reply, if I hadn't already given you a + I would do so again
