Hi, i am planning on installing power locks in my fiero very soon. I'm lookin at parts now and I wanna to know if I already have power windows, do i need to buy the wiring harness for the doors? Every harness I have been looking at to buy for power locks has been a power window/lock combination. So my question is...do i have the wiring already? lemma know, thanks

I was looking for links to different questions that I had asked about the install when i did mine....... it will be easier to do a search , type in "installing PW" in the search section it should be a big help to you. They will show alot of pictures that I had asked for when I did my PW & PDL install. (power window & power door lock)
There are at least 3 versions of 300 (crosscar) harness on the later cars.
no options. It just connects the Ajar and Dome light switches I think. PW only. If you had only factory PW then you got this. It doesn't have the option of adding locks/mirrors. PW PL PM. I don't think you could get PL w/o PM on the cars with the locks option.

I just installed power windows in my car. The harness did not have the wiring for power locks. I'm guessing the yours doesn't, either. Reach up under the corners of the dash, behind the carpet on the side panel. You will find a large flat connector. If it only has two wires, it's just wired for PW.
Another place to look is under the passengers side of the dash. Look for this, it is the PDL relay along With the wires that are used for the door locks

My 1984 Fiero 2m4 SE has Power Windows and Power Door Locks, but it doesn't have power mirrors. The power mirrors was a whole other seperate harness.
I BELIEVE that you can't have power door locks, without power windows. I've never seen that combination before. But you could get power windows seperately.

Ok, I now have all my parts, both motors, switches, trim pieces, harnesses, door latch things, and a relay. Is that everything? Anyway should it just bolt in? I would find out myself, but my fiero is still in storage and inaccessible. thanks

You will need the 30amp circuit breaker for the fuse box.
I had an 85SE v-6 4spd with power mirrors and manual locks and windows. When I installed the PW and PDL I created a composite wiring diagram of the cross car wiring harness. If you could use it I'll see if I still have it on a disk. It was done in Excell. I may have sent it to Ogre, don't remember.
God luck,

2000RagTop,
I'm in the process of adding this stuff to my coupe as well. I didn't get the screw to attach the relay in your picture to the car. Would you or anyone who happens to be reading be able to tell me what I spec bolt or screw need to get for that (i.e. pitch / size / etc)? My luck I suppose it will be another one that I have to order in, and I just today got a bunch of other stuff I needed - forgot about this one...sigh
Thanks! Andrew

LOL….Heck, I really don’t know? I would think any sheet metal screw would work. It’s only used as a ground. But make sure That it is a good ground

Thanks for the note! I've been trying to make this as factory as possible - including using all correct fasteners in the drilled and tapped locations, but it occurred to me today that if I'm ever going to put this car back on the road I may have to make an exception or two
Thanks again, Andrew

It's actually much easier just to swap the entire door with a fully optioned one, which is what I did. Than you just put your door skin on the new door. Failing that the most difficult part will be mounting the motors inside the door. Also with the power mirrors check to make sure that the terminals are the same for both the pig tail coming out of the mirror and the cross car harness. Earlier years used a white square connector and later years used a black rectangular one. The harness will just plug into a junction block in the top left corner of the dash behind the left speaker. The entire dash has to come out as well as the console frame in order the get the wiring harness in. Good luck, easily the most worthwhile upgrade I' ve done love the power locks especially.

Thats another route, too bad I already did the conversion. I think installing them wasnt that bad, the worst part was just getting all the stupid wires thru the black tube thingy. wouldnt getting the fully loaded doors be hard/expensive. It seems like that would be equal or more work, with swapping the doors and panels and such

I installed the harness/wires first into the "black tube thingy" then pull the harness into the door, then all I had to do was insert the rubber into the doors. Its alot easier working with the harness/boot "outside" of the car.....jmo??
