well, I was able to snag one out of a boneyard recently. does anyone know how to light it up, or did I get one that was dead.....
has two wires, one light blue, the other black.... also only markings on it say "design voltage 12.8"
would like to do this mod

I would guess the blue is for 12 volts and the black is for ground. If they are LEDs and you hook them up backwards, they won't light up. If that is the case, reverse the wires and try again.

theres an access hole (im assuming) that is near a diode/resister... applyed 12v to the one side and it lights up

I have often wondered about putting one of those in the roof line of a notchie, I think it would look pretty cool.
