Getting ready to repaint underside of hood & decklid but need paint . Anyone have the paint code for this or suggestions? I had to do some rework and priming so have to repaint. Appears to be a semi-gloss.

I used the same semi-gloss black that I use on my rocker panels. Duplicolor trim and bumper paint. It took me about 2 cans to do the underside of my front hood.

Mike , There was a post on this several months ago --my-self and a couple other members tried like hell to find any codes that would work--( no luck) we tried the chips--(no luck) someone out there has to know this, best bet would to be , take to paint supply house or body shop and see if they can color match it for you, if you find out please post...
It's semi-gloss or satin black. Bumper black is usually the same, but different manufacturers may use a different amount of flattener so make sure it's semi-gloss or satin. If you're using a spray can, find one that dries slowly & apply several light coats. If you want to use a premium paint like urethane, mix gloss black & flattener at 100/50 (before adding reducer/hardner). Will be available at any autobody supply. Always shoot a test panel to make sure it's what you want. Been doing custom body & paint for 35+ years. ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver"

I believe the exact paint that you are looking for is
"SEM" Trim Black paint # 39143 bar code 46786 39143
sem products inc. 651 mitchael way charlotte nc 800-831-1122
this is the exact paint used on the trim and mirrors.
I originally used the no name version which I was told was identical, however I had several application problems and went back to the factory spray can, which goes on perfect without any problems.
you can get it from any automotive supplier, however I strongly suggest the original "SEM" product and not the generic cheaper version. Costs about 10 bucks for a 15 oz spray can.

I have found a place online which stocks the complete line of SEM products, has very quick order turnaround, and occasionally has sales. It is "Your Auto Trim Store" I would post a link if I knew how. I bought all the SEM for my interior there for $7.50 a can.

I did the same thing to touch up a few blemishes under the deck lid but I added a little semi-gloss white to the black and I ended up with a perfect gray match.

I use PPG Delstar Acrylic Urethane Enamel. Four Parts Black, One Part White, Two Parts Flattener, and double the amount of thinner recommended in the mixing guide. Shot with a 1.0 tip touch up gun at 60-70 degrees, the texture and color match the OEM perfectly.
The factory used all PPG Enamel from the frame primer coat to the final body paint.
