Actually since 1969! 1965 was the only major body/suspension change. A great handling car was the result.

are you up on this subject? I know absolutely nothing about the corvair. The rotors they have in the pic looks like its been drilled. The pattern I belive goes from 5x100 to 5x4.5 is that the GM common??? maybe they just put it on the hub after drilling for the 5x100. Want to do this all in 1 step if possible, Im tearing out front end and rear cradle to refurbish and modify.

Gee this brings back memories.

One of the quickest little cars I can recall when I was a teenager was owned by a local school teacher. He had a Carman Ghia coupe with a 200+ hp turbo Corvair engine in the back. The thing would pull wheelies at the drop of a hat.

Thanks for the memory, and thanks for URL.

what was used on the rear of the vehicle to get the 5x 4 3/4 bolt pattern, since in the article it states that "you now have 5 X 4 3/4 Bolt circle to match the back"

I have found the bearings to go with the hubs, but not the hubs themselves. I did a Google on corvair and found a place that sells the hubs. I will have to find it again. It was a Corvair parts supplier. I need to know where to get the concentric rings that are needed and if the hubs can safely be drilled to the 5X100 pattern. Hard to tell from the picture. I did e-mail the guy from the above link and didn't get a very helpful response.

That's the place!!!! Thanks! Do you think (being a Corvair owner) that the hubs could be safely drilkled for the 5 X 100 bolt pattern rather than the 5 X 4.5 they are now?

My mother owns a '65 Corsa Turbo. My parents had the body and interior restored about fifteen years ago. Has basically sat in the garage ever since as it has never run properly and nobody knows how to work on them. I would love to go hiest it from there garage and get it running properly. Be a fun little car!

Join Corsa...it is on line and there is a link on Clarks site..Clarks also has repair manuals and with corsa there is someone around that could help you...They are neat cars and the turbo is the one to have but has a problem with burning valves and carb problems but should be workable...

So what other vehicles use that bolt pattern? Would it make it any easier to find a staggered wheel setup along with bigger brake kits? I would do this if it were truely beneficial.

It might be as we have talked about getting rid of it. We just don't really know how much it is worth. Ultimatly it is my mom's decission as it is her ride. I saw one on-line that had some nice aftermarket wheels on it and it looked hot! Just like our Fiero's, wheels make a HUGE differance in apperance!
