I got poly ball joint and tie rod boots w/ the "total kit" from fierostore, and I'm leery about the poly ones. The don't seem to fit too snugly on the big diameter end and are harder than the rubber, so I'm afraid they won't seal as well and will ooze grease. Anyone have any boot stories?

So--> Rubber or Polyurethane? I'm hoping to install this weekend...

The poly ones don't seal very well, but this is both a blessing and a curse. If you work on your own car, use the rubber ones; they hold the grease in and keep the dirt out. If you have your car serviced a lot at quick service stations, use the poly ones. Since they don't seal, those guys can't overfill them with grease and pop them; they'll just ooze out.

I have the urethane ball joint / tie rod boots on my car. While they seem to fit the tie rods alright, they don't fit the ball joints very well. They're not as flexible as the rubber boots. So as the ball joints move around, the boots sometimes shift instead of flexing.

uhg, that's annoying. Yeah, I'll use rubber. I'm getting everything REALLY clean, so I'd hate to spatter grease all over the pieces. Thanks!
