The reason why I ask if anyone is familiar with "Estrella" wheels made by American Racing is because I just bought a used 16x7JJ set today with 205/55R16 tires (for a pretty good price from off a PT Cruiser), but I'm a little concerned that the center caps are just going to be popped off by local kids. These caps simply press into place.

From the picture, it looks like the cap is held on with screws, but they're just fake. Friction fit is all that basically holds these caps (and the separate lug nut cover plates) onto the wheels.

I'd actually prefer using a smaller diameter cap (leaving the lug nuts exposed), possibly held onto the front of the wheel from behind.

Do any of you who might be familar with these particular wheels have any suggestions as to what might be available as an alternative to the factory caps?

I've sent an email to American Racing to see what they might have to say on the matter.

Well, apparently American Racing has nothing to say on the matter.

I guess responding at all to my inquiry would be an admission of guilt that these center caps are held on in a stupid manner. Any six-year-old kid can come along and pop 'em off. Very poor design in my opinion.

I'll repeat my question below in case any smart cookie here at PFF has a suggestion.
