Hiya!

As usual, I'm doing my Ecotec swap (at a snail's pace ), and everything is going pretty smooth now, but I've got a quick question with the chassis wiring.

On the same harness as C500, there's two other connectors: the 4-pin connector that goes to the decklid, and the other is a 3-pin connector... but I can't remember what it's for.

At first I thought it was for the fuel sender/pump harness, cause the connectors will connect together, but then I remembered that the fuel pump wiring goes though the firewall with the ECM harness, not the chassis harness.

I had this connector labeled, but the label is gone now. I don't have the original engine or harness anymore cause phil needed it (a very worthy cause), and AllData is not helping at all with this.

Any ideas? It's for an 88 Coupe 5-speed.

Thanks guys! If needed, I can get photos tomorrow.

Nah, that was on the ECM harness. This is on the chassis harness.

Yeah, I know. I left my camera at the shop. It's one of the three connectors on C500's harness, and it's the only one with 3-pins. Also, it's a weatherpack connector, just like the 4-pin connector going to the decklid.

It's not the TPS. That also is on the ECM harness, and the oil pressure sensor is only 2 pins. Of the two harnesses that go through the firewall, this is the one that doesn't go to the ECM.

I don't think so... all of those wires are on the C500 connector itself. This 3-pin connector doesn't go to C500, it just goes into the interior.

If it's located at the decklid connector then it IS the fuel tank connector. This connector goes into the same harness as the decklid which goes from the interior Right side through hole to the C500. I have an 88 coupe 5spd and that's the only 3 pin connector there near the decklid 4 pin.

I'll be a monkey's uncle! It really is the fuel connector.

What was throwing me off was that the wire colors on the tank unit are completely different. I looked through the diagrams that had the fuel gauge wiring, and it said connector C502 was the name. I looked through every illustration on AllData and lo and behold, C502 was the only other connector.

I could swear though... I thought that connector was on the ECM harness when I ripped the engine out.

I feel like an idiot now. Thanks for the help everyone!

I'll bet you're thinking about the fuel pump and A/C relays. Or at least the sockets. THOSE come out with the engine harness.
