The number on my 4T60 transmission ID plate is 7ALH. Does anyone have any idea what the stock Final Gear Ratio would be? I don't think it is a 3.33... I could be wrong though.

According to a chart I have, the 3.33 axles were 7ACH and 7CAH for 1987.

Most of the 4T60's were made with 2.84 drive ratios, so I'd guess that's what your have.

I have a partial list here: http://lesabret.com/phpBB/v...opic.php?f=13&t=7237

I don't have that code listed for 3.33 or 2.97 so its definitely not 3.33 and probably not 2.97 so odds are it is indeed the 2.84.

He has some 4T60E lists, not the 4T60. I've been talking to him.

I forgot to mention . . .

With the chart information I gave you, there were additional comments.

If you desire the 3.33 drive ratio (which many do), and you plan to have the 4T60 rebuilt. If the final drive ratio of the TH125C you're replacing is 3.33, there is another solution. GM liked to reuse parts whenever possible to reduce costs. In designing the 4T60, the final drive of the earlier TH125C was reused. The final drive and sun gear from the TH125C will work in the 4T60. The ring gears of the two transmissions are different and will not interchange. This is not a problem however since the planetary gears will fit either ring gear unit. Keep the 4T60 ring gear and when rebuilding, assemble it with the TH125C sun gear and final drive.

Yeah, I'm hoping to just drop the tranny in and have it work... If it doesn't then it could be a problem...
