I bought the 88 caliper/corvette rotor upgrade for my 87' gt 4.9 project, and was very pleased with the qaulity of the kit from fieroaddiction.com, the problem is the calipers I bought from rockauto.com. I bought them all months and months ago, they were supposed to be full hardware included, which they were not, but I gave them the wrong cores back so I figured I wouldnt push my luck by complaining about missing an odd and end. I did the fronts first (also months ago) and just today got around to doing the rears as I was finishing the cradle. I saved the brackets off the 84-87 calipers for the ebrake, only to notice today that they are not remotely the same. The arms look like they are probably the same but I am talking about the bracket that bolts to the caliper and holds the end of the ebrake cable in place.

Anyone have pictures of what I am looking for? Know where I can buy the things? Or have an extra set they would let go for the cost of shipping?

The bracket that holds the ends of the ebrake cables at the calipers. For 88 fiero calipers. Not the absolute end of the cable but the end of the shielding, where it has the circular clip that pushs through a hole and then expands to hold it in place. The end of the cable that has the metal piece perpendicular to the cable connects to the arm on the back of the calipers that actuate the ebrake mechanism. I am pretty sure I have what I need for that portion as the arms for the pre 88 and the 88s seems to be the same.

Hope this helps these are the best pictures I could find. In one the arm is circled and in the other the bracket. I would like to know if the arm is the same in pre 88 and 88's, and if the bracket is the same (I dont think it is) and if it is not then if I could get a set same goes for the arm if they are not interchangable.

They are not the same as '88 ebrake cable stop brackets. Also, I've broken many bits trying to get those off of pre-88 calipers, be warned.

I already removed the brackets from the pre 88s I took them off before sending in the pre 88s as the 88 cores. Is the arm the same then? And does anyone have some extra brackets?

I've got both types handy and will photograph and compare them, then post the results for you tomorrow (it's ten o'clock in the Maritimes). Unfortunately for you, I can't part with them but at least you'll know what to look for.

Cool I would appreciate that. If you can would you also check to see if the arms are the same. Just looking at the pictures I have I am pretty sure that they are but it doesn't hurt to check.

Hey Dizzixx,

Here are the photos you were looking for. Neither the spring perch bracket nor the e-brake lever are directly interchangeable without modifications. The lever has the same basic dimensions but a back-stop would need to be welded on to prevent the lever from turning too far when the brake was released. The spring perch bracket on the other hand is completely different where it mounts onto the caliper.
