I followed that crappy small picture on the site, because they don't put any directions in the kit. anyway the picture mentions cutting something, but I can't figure it out. Does this look correct.

Do a search for strut to coilover modifications. You need to remove the spring perches on the struts. Somewhere there is a great writeup on what to remove. Looks good though. Nice mod.

I think the WCF set up is different though. I don't think they remove the perches because of the short spring. I think you have the option of grinding the stock perch down for more rim/tire clearance. I could be wrong though.

I can't say if the WCF kit needs the spring seat removed either (too lazy to look it up)... but if you do have to remove them, here's a couple pictures that might help you from my build thread in-the-making (but not yet posted). Just be careful not to cut into the strut body, it's easy to see when you've passed through the weld and have gone deep enough.

That looks about right from what I remember from the set I had. You DO NOT cut the spring perch when using the WCF kit. You will find that the springs that are used in the kit are to short and fall out of the upper hat when you jack the car up to work on it. Also that over time the springs will rub on the threaded sleeve and wear it down in parts.

Im sorry, I guess I should have asked for those who have seen the WCF kit if this was done correct. I have read the post about the "make your own set of coilovers" I read that post and this is a KIT that you purchase, not a bunch of parts off EBAY.

Thanks "Stang" you realize what I was asking. , I was not asking about cutting the spring perch, I know not to cut that down for this kit. I was looking more at the top part. On my other set, I noticed that they stick out through the hole a lot. Does not interfer with anything, I just always wonderd if this was right.

Thanks all

Rob

Looks to me like the top mount is upside down. The centre bushing should be facing down, that won't fit into the wing correctly.

I have the same coil overs from WCF and I used the following picture to help me install them.

Looks like the WCF instructions say to invert the bump stop plate, it also mentions removing some material which is somewhat ambigous.
