According to my trans guy, the TH200 R4 (Grand National trans) (4 speed) and the TH 325 4-L trans (4 speed 1984-1985??) pretty much shares the same internals and they can build it to hold 700- 800 HP in a 3600-3800 lbs GN. So in a lighter car, it will be able to push more power. I think the TH 325 is different only a three speed and I don't know if it's like a TH 350 or TH 200 ( both three speed). Now the TH 425 shares the same internals as the TH 400 so you can really run 1000+ horses if it's built right but the down side is it's only a three speed . It will handle the power, some people say the chain would be the weakest link once you get to a certain HP level but it's cheap to get it built, just like the TH 400 .On the other hand, we spend about 2K on good TH 200 R4 built.
