i got these doors off craigslist for only $25. the guy said they had power windows. when i got there i could see that they dont have a handcrank and i can see the wires stickin out of the front of the door. so i assumed they were in fact power windows. so i buy em and take em home. there they sat for a couple weeks. i finally got around to opening them up and what do i find!?
thats right. a 2X4 is holding the window up! this guy ripped me off good. he took the motors out and sold the doors to me as "power window doors". if i knew where this guy lived he'd have fiero door parts all over his front lawn. and maybe some tire marks in his grass. this is the wiring i saw coming out of the door
so, what do i do now? the only reason i bought those doors is cause they had power windows. so to me they're just empty boxes now. anybody in the st. louis area need some doors?

Typical. There seems to be two camps in the Fiero Owner's Club:
1. The rip-off artist (like the PO of my Fiero who failed to mention the VAST amount of problems this car had when I bought it. I know, my own stupid fault.) 2. The outgoing, give you the shirt off their back types. I see them on this forum all the time.
Sorry you ran into someone from the first category. If I happen across what you need, I'll let you know.

thanks Jon. yeah ive noticed the seperate parties also. i just kept thinking, man us fiero guys are supposed to help each other, not scam each other. oh well. and yes im glad i only paid $25 for em. and no i dont know here he lives. im jus gonna reques to mea at he other persons house next time i use craigslist. so then i can find em when i get ripped off.

That 2x4 would end up through his front windshield and that would help out his memory a little.
haha, yeah definitly. or maybe i could be more creative and sell him some tires that don't hold air for $200 and get my money back. or maybe i could make his tires not hold air anymore
Reminds of a time when I got ripped on a corvair engine. The engine, said to have been rebuilt. It looked rebuilt. Had valve cover off. Pretty, I could tell someone at least put a little time in to it.
When time to start it. It was running on 3.. A vair engine will run on 3 cyl just find. Unless you know this kind of engine you can't even tell
But anyhow, the Valve had been JB welded into place Head had dropped valve seats and it didn't have pistons. The guy is in Sode Daisy TN. Someplace.
After getting my 500$ He Pooof. Like whodeani magic.
If you think about it $25 really isn't that bad at all, the window glass is worth at least that much and if the door skins are in good shape that's an added plus. This kind of stuff has been going on since long before Fieros were made. I ran into that problem twice in a row on Ebay, someone scams a person who doesn't find out in time enough to do anything about it and they stoop to the same tactic in an effort to get their money out of someone else. I checked right away and found the T66 ball bearing turbo I purchased was barely more than a T3 Super 60 and it didn't have any balls in it, he even had it rebuilt so he knew from the start. Paypal straightened it out.
It's just rotten people. Kind of makes you wonder how an adult can care so little about their character and reputation to do something like that. What goes around comes around and it usually hits them harder.
Best thing to do now is let it go before you get yourself in trouble trying to get even.

I take pictures of people and their car/tag when i don't know them. If they wount stand still for that, they don't get my money. Be smart and you don't have to get evon.
Put an ad on the same craigslist area, "Want to Buy - Fiero Parts" He'll probably contact you again. Don't let on you know about the con.
F'n A right! I would like to elaborate a bit. I am actually quite good at this thing.
Did the guy see your Fiero? If not, then did you describe to him your Fiero? (Duh, of course you did. We all do.) You NEED to not use the same E-Mail, phone #, or anything related to that last transaction. < Very important.
Ok, the guy is somewhat local. What you do need to do is, You need to post up an add, like RWDPLZ stated. But, post a little description of "your Fiero". Just don't describe your Fiero. Post a pic of another car. Say a thing or two about it in the add. How much you want it back on the road, your favorite color of Fiero, blah, blah, blah. This guy will not resist. He has more parts than the doors. He will do this again. Even more so with a little prodding.
He will think about the E-Mail, and phone #'s of folks that he screwed. He probably knows them better than his mother's. Also, seriously, act meek when contacting him. Don't try to change your voice too much. Just portray helplessness. Sharks pic that shat up easily.
Good luck, and keep us posted. I hope that he don't read Pennock's?
Edit: I am not condoneing (sp) any bodily harm. Just a little advice to help locate the turd.

I don't understand why you dont know where he lives. You said you picked them up. Did you meet him in an alley somewhere? That would have been your first indication that something was not right.

haha, well yeah i was just joking about the getting even part. the only thing id actualy like to do is get him in a little trouble or atleast let him know i know he screwed me so he wont do tha to anyone else.
the catching him on craiglist thing shouldn't be hard cause when i bought the doors he was really pushing to try to get me to buy a hood too. so if i really want to i could i could put an ad out for that and hell most likely respond. then i could get pics of him and his truck and lisence plate and stuff.

most people on craigslist will not meet at or near their house. the mentality is that if the buyer sees something else they need, the buyer will just come back and take it when your not there. so i understand it. but next time im gonna do the picture thing, and if they wont get thier pic taken then i wont buy from them.

Don't specify a hood! He WILL remember who he tried to sell a hood to. I would ask for several different Fiero parts. Maybe ask for, "interior pieces, body moldings, marker lights, or engine bits."
Say that you're looking for a Fiero front clip... you crunched yours when driving in the winter weather and are needing it fixed soon (emissions/safety inspection coming up and you don't want to have to explain to them why your car is stripped down).

Personally id never meet someone at their place ( or mine )... too risky. And ya, it sux you got taken.. could he not have known himself and didn't do it intentionally?
When I craigslist something I bring them right to my house. I live in florida, someone starts trouble at or on your property, your allowed to bring the guns out, literally.
