In my 86SE, there is a mysterious 8-pin connector that is in the same bundle of wires that go to the convenience center. Here are some pics if that helps any

I cannot find any info on this connector in the service manual.
Thanks
Matt

Does your car have the oil pressure and volts gauges on top of the center stack?

Yes i have aux gauges but that 8-pin connector is accounted for. This seems to be completely different. It is located above the heater box. It has ORG, PNK, BRN/RED, ORN/BLK, BRN, BRN/WHT, GRY and BLK. It seems to trace directly back to the fat main interior harness.

The aux gauges plug in with a short pigtail with a connector on each end. The connector you are holding looks a lot like the one that the harness end of the pigtail plugs into.

It does look alike, but it isnt the same plug. The aux gauges cluster has only 5 wires. This has all 8 pins occupied. It is taped together with the convenience center wiring by the heater box

I did some digging and found out that the mysterious plug under the dash was for the "Rally Computer".

Evidently, the rally computer was being produced by a company in california. Here is a link to the thread: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/A...090219-2-084305.html

It was a prototype module to show instand MPG, Avg MPG, distance to empty. The prototype never made it to production.

The 8 wires in the harness are:
GRY-Inst. Lamps
BRN-Tail Lamps
ORG-Battery
PNK-Fuel Gauge
BLK-Ground
BRN-Ignition
BRN-Speed signal
ORG-ALDL Pin E Data

Thanks for helping me try to identify this connector
