Would this help cooling off the engine any? I know that heat rises.. but there's no way it's rising out as much as possible when the deckilde is in the way... what kind of scoop shoudl I use? Or should I just toy around and make my own? Show me some examples if you can... and if I don't like the looks I'll just design my own.. I've got the time . Thanks guys... God I love this message board. Lates

Ok, this is nearly the same scoop I bought from outlawperformance.org a while back (They're gone now...) I haven't had a chance to install it yet.

Anyway, it came from Tom's Accessories at http://www.fieroproject.com/tom/

This scoop is nice because it follows the lines of the car quite well, and adds a nice vent for the engine. You also can install small electrical fans under the vents next to the decklid- that should increase airflow as well.

The Deck Scoop IS Mustang-Styled, but most are made specifically for the Fiero (or they just happen to fit really well!)

If I remember correctly, they're off of '79-'83 Muscrat GTs. Someone let me know if I'm wrong.

I prefer Skitime's vents. Styled just like the factory would have done. I'm going to try to do something like that on my Formula.

John, why yes, they are off the '79, Mustang... Jonathan McCreery has one on his GT, and I will get one, one of these days! If you look on ebay you can find them, and on my other computer I have a website addy that sells replica scoops from the '79 Mustang for 70 bucks. Good deal, I think.

Just a word of caution, I got one off ebay from a site called MPMotorsports. THey sell aftermarket fiberglass stuff, I didn't like the quality of the product, just be warned. I did get a true "Ford" scoop off ebay last week, it came off a 79 Rustang GT. I got it for $20.00, i was the only bidder. I say go for the genuine Ford part over a fiberglass aftermarket, JMO
