I recieved my copy of the VHS tape on Saturday afternoon. My Dad & I sat patiently and watched the entire video (55 minutes) with our Jaws on the floor! I learned more about the 89-90 Fiero in that hour than I ever did reading about it anywhere else.
For anyone remotely interested in the 89-90 car, this video has so much information! It was some of the best $25 of my money spent on Fiero stuff.
This is not walk-around video of a finished showcar/prototype. This is a pre-production mockup showing the entire assembly of the car (from a bare running frame to complete body) in about an hour. Many of the parts are a half-clear detailing the construction of each part. Also many of the changes in manufacturing & assembly are detailed- as well as specific connection points and things like the new "magic panel" (Which I won't say anything else about )
OK, these photos are not the greatest (I used my digital camera to snap photos of the TV set). This is the engine cover & upper/rear sail panel being installed.
This is the upper/rear installed. Note that it is all one piece (no seperate sail windows). And that it is designed to hinge upward for access to the engine.
This is the hood with light assemblies being attached... front fender & front fascia has also already been installed. The lighting is totally different than what I expected.
This is after the rear deck has been installed, but before the wing. The back end is at least 12" longer than the original design & even has a removable 2nd storage area. Also notice that the decklid is a 2-piece design (engine cover & cargo cover are separate pieces).
And for those people lucky enough to see the prototype in California- I look forward to seeing your photos of the finished car as well. But this was something entirely different.
For anyone interested in replicating the body of the 89-90 prototype car for kit purposes... this is an absolute must!
I'm glad you and your dad enjoyed it Rob! Like you said in your review of this tape, Fiero West will truly get to see something special, BUT all put together! Where this video shows you step by step and they describe how they did it! Like I said before if you are trying to make a kit car of the original 1990 fiero this tape will give you the most details about doing it!
Rob, thanks for the fuzzy but very interesting photos of the '90 fiero. I've got to get this video now! Three very interesting points: The front fenders are almost bang on to late model Firebird which is what I used as a start. The hood line at the windshield is also the same as mine and the real clincher is the hinge point at the top of the sail panel which is also where mine is! I'll snap some pics tonight and send them to you. Also I've got a line on an '86 car with no body - but it does have an aftermaket targa top. anybody interested??? My Garage is already loaded with dead Pontiacs! Greg

Man You should let me make a DivX or MPEG-2 video outta that! I have a pretty good video capture card. I encoded Jimmy's Race video at low quality... I could easily squeeze out the same quality of the tape as a DivX!
where is ausfiero??????? he needs to see this i am interested in getting a f355 kit but this right here is way better. where is aus???aus u need to make this and ill be your 1st customer

Randy, no problem just send the funds on Saturday, I'll make sure there is a copy for you! As for anyone else thats interested in a copy it's $25 and that includes shipping it priority mail and it's taped on a "premium grade" SONY tape, as for some people who don't know me and have made commits about me just hording this tape to make a profit, if that was the case I would have put it on ebay starting at $25 and sold them that way, like other people keep doing with other video tapes! Sorry I had to stoop to these peoples level, but I just couldn't ignore it anylong in the private emails I was getting. Anyway with that off my chest, if you are interested in the 1990 tape just send to: John Podziemski 4343 South 38th Street Greenfield, WI 53221

What is wrong with some people? I met FieroJohn when I was 14 and coming to national FOCOA shows in Pontiac & Indy (back in the early 90's)- and I have never forgotten who he was. He's always been one of the most energetic & coolest Fiero people I've ever met. It's people like him (and his whole family) that have helped stimulate & grow the population of Fiero Enthusiats- especially in the Midwest (hmmm... ever hear of Dells Run?). FieroJohn is honest to the core- and anyone who thinks otherwise is simply wrong!
FieroJohn- Keep up the great work & I'll be seeing you again this year at the Dells!

My check will be on its way tomorrow! I appreciate you sharing your priceless find, and at a fair price.
I bet you can't wait to see how many DVD/Tape Dubs of this will appear on ebay.

MinnGreenGT, if you have a digital camcorder, why can't you just connect up the video cables to your VCR's line output jacks and copy the VHS onto your DV tape? Then you can snag clear as good as the VHS copy pics. I do that all the time to get pics off a VHS I have.
You should see the Star Trek training movie I made with my kids. You can't tell it is home made. A real motion picture with actual Star Trek music, credits over a moving star field, space shots, Enterprise bridge scenes all with my kids

Ummm....??? I don't have a DV camcorder. I wish I did! But I don't. I tend to spend all my dough on either my GT or my Home Theater stuff (which doesn't utilize a DV camcorder). The photos were from an Olympus C-2500 digital still camera!

Off EBAY? Then you're not getting it from FieroJohn! Someone ordered one from him, and is now copying and re-selling the Video on Ebay.
several people I know have called me to say they found the video and ebay and were going to get it, I've told them all what happened, and they decided not to bid. I don't want to support someone who is ripping off FieroJohnWI's video.. but I really would prefer to get this on VCD or DVD, rather than VHS. are there any plans to have an "official" copy in digital format?
