I know how you feel Chuck. I am so excited about this and so are all the members of my local club. I feel honoured the CFOG-I is playing an integral role in getting this thing off the ground.
My main dream about this event is that Pontiac REALLY gets involved in this a sponsors it, not just lip serves. I have been telling every fiero owner about this and they ask me what I would like Pontiac to do. I want them (Pontiac) to come out publiclly to the 3 big car magizines telling them that they (Pontiac) is hosting this event, plus I would like to see it on their (Pontiacs) web page! I don't want to see it turn out that all the fiero clubs do all the work and all Pontiac does is simply say yeah you can used are parking lot for the show. Thats not standing behind or help sponsor a event! Just my 2 cents

Yeah would be nice to not feel like the bastard child of the GM family that's kept in the attic for at least one day
Soaper, might be pretty hard to get everyone from the forum in one location, but an option that could be viable would be a sticker of some sorts that folks could put on their car along with PFF name to let other members know, just a thought

FIERO JOHN-WI, the key to this whole thing is this......... we (CFOG-International) could be a lot stronger and carry a lot more clout if the people on here would join us - there is something to be said for the numbers - we, as a group, will have more of an impact on GM and Pontiac than a handful of individuals can.
There are a lot of people on here who are not joiners - well, now is the time to join something worthwhile!
There are a lot of people on here who are taking a "wait-and-see" attitude because of being burned by other clubs that are not doing anything for them....... Our feeling is this - you should have a value for your money and we are trying new innovative approaches (the 20th Anniversary event is just one example) to present the Fiero community with programs and events not presented on a National or International level before.
Our annual dues right now are only $25, which is lower than many local clubs and lower than other national clubs, yet everyone wants to "wait and see" - the fact of the matter is this - for events to take place, for newsletters to be published, for t-shirts and window stickers and coffee mugs and......... well, it takes $$ - everyone wants to see all of this but what they are saying is, "it isn't worth less than $.50 a week to have it.
Simply put, an individual gets out of something just what they put into it.......
John, this is not directed at you - just a statement of my observations........
We would like to have you as a member - we would like to have all of you as members - the more members there are the more $$ there are and the more events there are - CFOG-International is a non-profit organization supporting a charity - we are not in this to profit but rather to unite Fiero owners, present events and information for them to enjoy their Fiero and to have fun doing it.
Foe anyone who may want to invest that $.50 per week to be a part of an organization that is planning a monumental event, presenting the Fiero community with a Performance Division for the racing enthusiasts among us, presenting a Kit-Car Division for those inclined to rebody the Fiero ......... well, here is the link to the membership application -- like I said - numbers will show GM that we are alive and well and a force to be reckoned with!

Agreed. I want them to distribute posters to the dealerships, hopefully catching the attention of some of the Fiero owners who don't have Internet, don't belong to clubs, and don't know the Brotherhood that exists and the enthusiasm we share. Some of the people who take other cars in for service will see such a poster and think of the people they know who have a Fiero, and tell them about it.
In other words, I want Pontiac to play a big role in advertising it.

If this is true , LMK and I will pass it onto the people on the racing list. We need some sort of moving event.

You should know by now who has all the info about any type of competition!!
Yes, there WILL be an event at Waterford Hills. I can guarantee that, even if I take a personal financial loss. But as was so eloquently stated earlier, it takes $ - -, for the track, for insurance, for all the related expenses (Radios, required ambulance and Medical, Porta-Potties, etc.) And the Racing List is not joining CFOG-I Performance Division in droves!! So - - how much can be pre-arranged is a little foggy at this point.
I am working the details out. But I can guarantee you there will be at least a High Speed Touring event. You know how NASA runs theirs, well this will be similar. It can be Wheel-to-Wheel, but no passing except on straights, etc. Oh, Passengers ARE allowed, as long as they are licensed drivers, over 18 (or have the required Parental Releases), have helmets, and have signed the typical waiver.
I hope to have a heat or two with just eligible racing Fieros, such as ITB, GT-2 (BTW, did you see the Huffaker Quad 4 GT-2 car for sale in SportsCar?)etc. Cars that are track legal, and with fully licensed drivers (regardless of sanctioning body). I am communicating with K&K Insurance about the cost for CFOG-I, and this insurance will be a topic at our next Directors Meeting. If we can't afford to insure our own event, I will ask NASA to sanction it. (You know I still am an official with NASA, don't you?)
I also am hoping to be able to interface with some autocrossers in MI to see if they can hook me up with a site to rent (or we can do THAT at Waterford, also), and equipment I can rent to have an all Fiero autocross. But I have time to work on that, the track days are what needs to be cemented down this early.
Hope this answers your questions. The best thing you can do to help make this a better event than just hot-lapping the track is to help me encourage the RacingList members to join CFOG-I. The Performance Division is a separate division at the club, and as we increase in numbers, so will the options for this event, and number of other events around the country.
It is just a numbers game. The more members, the bigger the coffer, the more events of higher caliber. Simple math.

Jonathan, we are planning a full day at the Waterford track thursday, July 17th as part of the 20th Anniversary event...... George Ryan who is the Director of the CFOG-International Performance Division will be providing more information as it is available.
We will have a registration site online within this next week.....
In addition to that, I think we should try to get Hulki and this other gent, Wes Zaydel to make an appearance. I would think they would be as inclined to attend an all Fiero event that had the huge implications that the 20th Anniversary bash will have as they were to the non-Fiero specific Pontiac show in Michigan last weekend.
