Several people have told me they need more time to register for the RRR at Lake Texoma in October. You asked for it - you got it. The pre-registration deadline date is now July 31. All cost information on the registration page will now apply to that date instead of June 30. http://www.cfog-i.org/RRR/index.html http://www.cfog-i.org/RRR/reservation_application.html
If you want to pay by Paypal, check the Credit Card box then submit and follow the instructions.
Thanks for all the emails, PM's and questions. Thanks to Archie for your participation. And of course, thanks to Cliff for this priceless resource.
For those who aren't sure you're coming, remember: the following Monday is Columbus Day, so if you're off work it should promise to be a relaxing weekend with plenty of time to return home.

Still only two, plus my family and I. That's exactly the reason for the extension, as several people told me they need more time. This thread is to announce that more time has been granted. There are many interested parties, and I am not worried that there won't be enough participation. They just needed more time, and they got it.
If you are nervous about registering due to concerns it won't take place, all funds are going into a separate account handled by the club Treasurer, and will be returned if the event is canceled. That's a promise on my personal word of honor. Remember, this is a licensed non-profit organization, and we are accountable for our finances. Registration money will not be touched for any other purpose of the club!
Now, we need 18 more to ensure the event will take place. Who will be next?
I definitely want to see this happen. I just am hoping that this can become an annual regional/national event. There are not too many of those within easy driving distance for those of us in Texas, as you well know.

Well, there WILL be an annual event for the CFOG-I South Central region (TX, OK, LA & Arkansas), but my personal opinion is that it should be held in a different corner of the region each year, to give everybody their fair share of driving time. We have yet to begin thoughts of next year's location, but it's open for discussion. I would hope for it to be hosted by a local club next time, but those are few in these parts. I think the date works very well however. It's exactly 6 months before/after the Roundup in San Antonio, and the weather in this region is wonderful at that time.
There are 19 registered at this time. Today is 08/13, so we have exactly 2 months to go. On July 31, when we reached 19, I thought we might double that by the time of the event, and that is still my hope. It's hard to predict. But with no more registrations in the past 2 weeks, all I can do is wait and watch. The clubs around here are all talking about it, so the word is getting out.
Oh, and you should know... Archie can't come. He's made so many long distance trips already this year, this one is just too much. I have been reading his exploits, and wondering how he does it, so I understand fully.
A logo is nearly complete, just getting the final touches, then shirts will be ordered and awards prepared. Three of my cohorts and I are visiting the site this weekend for more planning. It will be a good time for all who attend. But if the number of Fieros in attendance is what makes it or breaks it for anyone reading this, stay tuned. That's all I know to tell you at this time.
