Now that I have finally registered, I can start telling everyone else that they need to
Only about a week left until the deadline is here. We need some more people to pre-register so this even can take place. I'm not exactly sure how many more, but whoever is going to this, you might as well sign up now. You'll get a discount for signing up early. Here's the other thread with all the info (if you just happened to miss it) https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/019431.html
Squach do I have to register to go. My car is not in condition to compete, unless I get that other GT. If not I would definelty like to go. I do not want to spend the money registering my car since it is in bad condition.

Lonzo, don't look at it as "competing", focus on "participating" instead. Of course, this event is being held at a public venue, and no armed guards will be at the gate so anyone can feasibly show up. But this is a new event that some good people are working hard to make it a "happening". It is worth supporting with your dollars.
Now, if you are concerned that people willbe nasty because your car is not up to "show par", I'll gladly get nasty at them for you. That's not the spirit of this event. I imagine most cars will have traveled a minimum of 100 miles to get there, and will be sporting there shares of bug guts and road grit. This is a gathering, not a beauty contest! BE THERE!
Is3mach, Our 84 is far from a show quality car, it's a daily driver, but we're going to meet people & have a good time. The people make the cars, not the other way around. Matter of fact, if I don't hurry up & get some work done(no time off) we won't be able to take the Fiero. But we're going if we have to take the bus (no worry, the jeep has never failed me ) Anybody planning on doing any fishing??

This is not an event which requires a nice car. The only judging will be by popular vote, which I take with a grain of salt personally. The emphasis here will be on fun. The registration money goes toward needed materials and the banquet, so frankly if you come you are expected to do your share to help fund it.
Someone asked if their wife needed a separate registration, and the answer is no. One per family is sufficient, unless you bring more than one Fiero. Then another registration is expected for each car. But you will get only one meal paid with each registration, regardless of how many are in your party. After the minimum 20 registrations are in, the meal decision will be finalized, but expect it to be $12 to $15 per person.
I guarantee this event will not make a profit for CFOG-I, that much is already known. It's being done to demonstrate the kind of events we intend to hold everywhere: enjoyable, relaxing, low-pressure, and memorable. Bring your kids!
Yeah, like the other guys said, it doesn't matter what your car looks like. Mine doesn't look too great, and I'm taking it. Although I do plan on painting it before I go, I might not have time. It might be in primer gray when I take it down there

Heck, I have 40 Fieros and not a one is show and shined. Use to have 3 just this year and all sold in the last 3 months. Fieros are alive and well. At least GT 5 speeds are.
I will be towing mine at this time today. Of course I hope to get the 3800SC in there by October. Customer cars always come first however.
Steve (Tyler) did you send in that $25 so I can pay your car entry fees?

NOW you tell me . People, you can't take your wife out for a dinner & movie for the price of the registration. Well, maybe ya can, but barely. This is well worth the registration fee, just to poke fun at me in person. Tell ya what, I'll mail the next person that registers for this(help me out here Chuck, regarding who it is), a $20 rebate. Cash money on the barrelhead. Don

Sure, but they need to click that Submit button, and not print & mail in the form. That's regardless if they're going to mail the payment. I get an automatic email when the registration is submitted online.
Thanks for the support, Don! Means a lot.

Don, another registration has just now been submitted. I don't recognize the name, so it may be someone who is not on this forum. Still, I will PM you to discuss it further.
Tom was talking about going , I don't know if he registered or not. At the last meeting ol Holland passed a list around to see who was going it had around 4 names on it counting me. Doug

20 rooms had to be reserved by 9/11/02 (No, we didn't pick the date) for the meeting room to be free to the club. Otherwise, the club will have to pay for the conference room for Sunday's activities.

"Lodge reservations: 800-528-0593, ask for the CFOG-International rate. A block of 40 rooms has been reserved at $58 per night, including tax."
If you share a room, I hope you'll do it at the lodge, to help get the 20 rooms by 09/11, cause we aren't there yet. If you must seek cheaper lodging, I don't know if there is any, but you could try going into a MyYahoo page and use the Yellow Pages feature to find "hotels and motels" in the vicinity of Kingston OK 73439.

I gave the wrong zip code for Kingston. It's 73439. I corrected my post above.
The odd-number rooms are on the side of the lake (at least in the wing I stayed at in March), the even-number rooms will only get you a view of the parking lot.
And did I mention for those bringing someone... additional banquet cost has been set at $10, not 12 to 15 as estimated at the top of this thread.
Since some participants must go home Sunday night, it looks like we'll have the banquet, trivia game & awards presentation for lunch instead of supper. We're moving the cruise to the afternoon/early evening. That way, those people won't be in the car too much (is that possible with a Fiero?) and they'll still get the meal which their registration has paid for.
I know it's only 5 weeks away, but we're talkin' October in southern Oklahoma. Geez, what a weenie! My a/c compressor broke and I've been driving to work every day in Houston, in August! Cowboy-up! Don't give the tribe up in OK the impression we can't handle a little wind in our hair.

It's even snowed in October before! You might want your heater instead of the A/C, if it happens to snow (I doubt it, though).
