Come on peoples.. I know its a long way off but we can at least get a few more routes spoken for. How cool will it be to see a state to state caravan of Fieros? I was going to contact Bill Wilt of Motorsports Unlimited (TV Show) & see if he would be interested in filming the caravan driving through Illinois & maybe attend/film the show in Pontiac. It would be one heck of a site to see 30/40/50 or more Fieros in a row on the highway captured on film..

Carl,

that sounds good!! We are planning to arrange TV coverage for the event as well.

I think the Caravan planners (like Steve) should designate assembly points in various cities that they will be travelling through so that other branches of the caravan may join them.

I simply cannot imagine hundreds of Fieros converging on Pontiac all at once - we'll have the people at Pontiac wondering where they all came from!!

Ok, I will volunteer to head up part of the Western contingency.

If I am still in Denver at the time then we can make Cheyenne, WY a meeting point for those that want to head out from Utah, Idaho, Oregon, California, and Washington. If I have moved back to Boise by then, then we can make the hook up point in Salt Lake and head East to merge with Haze's caravan.

------------------
AIM - SWags2933

84 Fiero SE (88 Pontiac Ad car motor and tranny being installed, T-tops, Fastback, Formula bumpers and Held Suspension being added)
84 Fiero IMSA Widebody (Centerlines, 3800SC & T-tops being added)
88 Formula (basically stock)

Well I know there has to be people coming from Montreal, Ottawa and the east coast that has to go through Toronto (unless you go through the states?). All we have to do is figure out what time people are leaving their homes and make some kind of rendevous just outside Toronto. Maybe you can get a link going, East Coast meets up in Montreal, hook up with anyone in Ottawa, then Toronto. See where it goes from there, maybe London depending if you want to go through sarnia or not?

The GTA Fiero Club meets just west of Milton at a service station on 401 before they go to Michigan show every year. It's just as good of a place as any to meet, should be enough parking for all the fiero's and a good rest point for the people who already made the long haul the Toronto.

I have every intention of following SmoooooooGT.

Steve, we absolutely MUST get the "valley boys" committed to this. That is a great coup! Just to this (Dallas) area adds about 7 to 8 hours to their trips each way!. They might get the "longest distance driven" awards! Most people don't have a clue how vast the distances are here in this state.

87GTBro, you listening??????

When the time comes, I am in with the crowd from TX! Let's go Steve!

BTW... It would be shorter for us if we timed things so that I could meet up with you guys in Texarkana..

OK...... I'll take the initiative and form a caravan from Scranton, PA to Pontiac.

It's a long way off, but I'll speak to some local Pontiac dealers and see if I can get a rallying point.

The starting location will be convenient to
I80 West and I81 North. This should be good for the folks in the Mid-Atlantic and Southern New England States

I'd like to leave on the 16th and get hotel accomodations for the 16th through the 20th.

Who else would like to join (and help)?

A head count would be nice. Please Email or PM me.....

Bob

You can *tentatively* count me in. If it develops well, you can probably count on a pretty good crowd from PA...

That sounds so F"N" cool!!!! I can't wait to see all those cars converging into Pontiac. I have a sister that lives up there, she use to work for GM, her husband still does. I'll have to stay with them to save on hotel costs. I will work on getting our club and all of the Florida clubs together. We will all be taking 75 all the way there, so we can try to all meet somewhere on 75, or on the Michigan border. I'm sure the news channels would love to film all those Fieros going there. Maybe if we all took some toys, and did a toy for tots run out of it, we will get more press, and mostly help all those families that can't afford toys for their children. Without toys, how will the children enjoy seeing all those Fieros? I'm glad we all have time to work out the routes and times. I wonder if we could get the following magazines involved in this story. Road and Track, Kit Car, Car and Driver, Motor Trend, etc. Maybe the speed channel could make a two hour(or one) show about this 20 year reunion. I'm too exited about this trip!! This will be this biggest Fiero Event ever!!!! I think

Looks like the Texas crew will be going right through Dayton, Ohio on I75...count BigfierO and I in on the merge. I also know that Ronni & Martin "Earl" on the forum will be joining us. They are getting there 85GT together. I'll seee if I can't round up a few more in my area. This sounds like a blast!

There will most definitely be a caravan from New England. We have already put the word out and we will do up some info in the newsletters. We will try to get a meeting point somewhere on Rte 84W. Then we could meet up with the PA folks somewhere in NY state.

This is going t0o be a blast!!! We have PLENTY of time to make this raelly work out...

Us Southern people will probably spend the night in Nashville... That will be fun by it's self!!
That would give the other guy's from the surrounding area's to come into Nashville and meet up there.. just a thought!!

We can make point's to meet like that during the "resting time for people that will stop and sleep;;;"..
I can see it now when 200 Fiero's attack Pontiac, Miching!!!!

Let DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
Smooth~~

Here's a question. When do we expect the caravans to arrive in Pontiac? As you may know, there will be a "track day" or "race day" at Waterford Hills on Thursday, July 17. But not everybody will attend that, not even as spectators. Maybe people can't afford the extra day off or the expense of another night in the hotel. So, will the caravans be for everyone EXCEPT the racers, who would be on their own to get there a day early? Or the opposite: time the caravans to arrive in time for race day, and everyone ELSE would be on their own. A third option is to plan on TWO DIFFERENT caravan arrival days.

I guess that we should plan the Main Caravan Should arrive on the 18th... What does everyone think... The "racer's" and such could just arrive at will.... and the Caravan will bring up the rear. That way there will be already a "Greeting Committee".. LOL

Any Idea's????
