I did the same thing to my valve covers...except the color. Wow this story is too familiar! I went to Pontiac Nationals at Norwalk Ohio last Sunday after finishing my SE Friday and ended up with 3rd place in the "Street Modified" class. I still can't believe it! Don't mean to steel your thread but this is just too de-ja-voo... here's some pic's:
