I would like to remind all NEFA and MAFOA members that our club BBS is up and running. It would be nice if more members joined the BBS to make it more active. You can reach it thru the link at our club page www.fieropride.com . We have several members that post here that are active over there as well.

Temporary over-reaction. Post below cleared up my doubts.

One of the advantages of the club BBS is that any announcemenst or upcoming events will be easier to see for those interested.
I can't tell you how many times I didn't see a club related thread in time on PFF or saw it late as there is just so much traffic on here that bumps it down so fast.
Also, it is more club specific, so a lot of the things that many on PFF would not be interested in, willinstead be more consentrated to the club BBS.
Things like NEFA/MAFOA merchaindise, newsletter info, club articles, club BOD news, club elections and such that really would not make much sense as routine announcements on PFF.
It is not meant as a replacement to PFF, just a more focused place for more specific club news, announcements, events, shows and other specific club related stuff.

I hope that helps some?

Steve

It's actually smaller than a lot of them that I see on here.

I noticed that some of our club members are not posting as much on PFF. They feel that it is too crowded over here. I have been going over to our club forum because it is our club forum. No need to worry about some PFF trolls going over there. I also like to keep in touch with other club members and feel that this is a much more direct way of doing so, plus your missing the party over there. I think it is a good alternative to PFF and I think it would be good if NEFA and MAFOA members would go over there and give suggestions on improving it. It is one of the benefits of our membership as only members are allowed to post there. Lastly don't knock it till you try it. Boomtastic, grgoyle86, Chester, 88coupeV6, jaygee79,MsBeth, Fierobruiser, and more are all there. Might as well get something for your dues eh?

I am a member of both, I still love it here too.

Like Fiero5 said "Things like NEFA/MAFOA merchaindise, newsletter info, club articles, club BOD news, club elections and such that really would not make much sense as routine announcements on PFF."

It is just a way for the club to get closer. I encourage all members to try it. I love the Idea.

RadRuss. you are about an hour or less from us.
I think you are about the same distance from Chester and Elvira as well?

BTW: We have regular dinner get togethers in Concord all the time, maybe you could hitch up with us on the next one?

I got into the routine of checking the club forum several times a day for new posts, then once I was caught up there I'd camp out here again. It's not a one-or-the-other thing. It's in addition to PFF, not instead of PFF. And, with paid access, turns out it happens to include more polite discussions and less unacceptable behavior. That's just a convenient little extra, and it helps a club take care of its business.

Thanks to those of you who have posted positively about the FieroPride Forum.

We have absolutely NO intention of replacing this Forum. The international membership here, and the large numbers, make this a great place for information.

But, sometimes, it's nice to just chat with the folks in your "neighborhood". Those folks that you know real well.

If anyone would like to discuss this directly with me, please feel free to email me at bob@fieropride.com.

BTW, to check it out, go to www.fieropride.com/phpBB2

Let's face it. People in California aren't going to be interested in small shows and club elections for a club on the east coast. Why take up space talking about stuff like that that only maybe 10 or 20 people out of 5000 are interested in? If you have a smaller, more focused board just for the clubs concerned, it's easier to find topics you're looking for. Plus it helps to keep the clutter down on this one.

The MAFOA/NEFA BBS is a closed BBS. It is only available for club members only. It is part of your club membership. Why be negative when all we are trying to do is improve the clubs?

Everyone that wants info or help on something, comes here. If you have internet accss, and need help, why make someone run around to all these different places. One of the greatest things about the Fiero community is that everything is centralized. All fiero owners across the world have 1 great place to come for anything they need. We're all here to help everyone, all at once place.

Okay - news alert here!! There is no centralized place of information for Fiero owners. While this happens to be the largest BBS devoted to Fieros, it most certainly does not constitute a "central" location for information.

quote
Theres no need start trying to divert attention from here. If anything, lets keep one place for everything. Cliff has offered us a VERY warm home (thanks cliff), and lets keep it that way.

Who said ANYTHING about diverting? Re-read the post please. Does it say "Abandon this BBS and join ours?" Ummm, no.

quote
Oh and BTW, why the HELL would anyone pay to join a forum, when this better one is FREE??? C'mon guys, some sense here.

That's the ole club spirit! No wonder we don't see you at any of the car shows ...

Now, since I have run many different versions of BBS software, I suppose I can offer my opinion (just like you are offering yours because you are in 2 clubs and have experience here) with regards to the differences to UBB code (Cliff's BBS) and phpBB code (MAFOA/NEFA BBS), but since you think you already know which one is better (your words), I'll digress.

Yeah Jnco was at more shows here than some locals! He came to our January get-together, Carlisle I & II, Maple Grove and Zinn's plus he came down last week to blow up his tranny at our Maple Grove event.

I appreciate the support from the ones who know me. As well as attending all the meetings at kick hill since being aboard, and other pontiac shows which weren't exactly Fiero specific. Perhaps it may be because I don't have the brightest shiny fiero out there, but Hey, 'least I had Mine at Zinns... (please note the sarcasm).

And while it doesn't say abandon this one, it seemed at first like a plea to get some attention there. I am admitting my fault on the quick reaction, however, had the initial post mentioned more specifics and it being geared mainly to club actions, perhaps a different reaction would have resulted.

Now, an explanation of your over reaction, for I found that one quite uncessasary myself...

Oh yea.. and hows this for a forum:

"phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database "

Guess it IS better.

Sarcasm noted! And just for the record, I won't be bringing a Fiero to Kick Hill next weekend either. (More fuel for your fire .. lol)

I can agree with that.

I hope you're not looking to me for an answer. I've said my peace. I'm done with the subject and ready to move on.

Our ISP was having some troubles with the mySQL server. They tell me that it has been resolved. Time will tell, but for that you can't fault the software. Once you start posting in the BBS you will see that it is better. You just need to give it a chance.

OK, now you two shakes hands and let's all move on to more important issues.
Like Fieros!
That is after all why we have all these great sites anyways, right? Pennocks, the Pride BBS, all the different club sites, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, .....
