Um... yeeeaaaa... you just read right. I did attend the show today....

I drove up to the COFE FIERO show this morning (Sunday) from Columbus. It took me about 3 hours to get there, if you include the normal "got lost" thing.

When I asked a gas station attendant for help, and she pointed me in the right direction, I asked her if I was the only one who had stopped by so far (this was about 9 am), she said yes. I said great, I'm the first to get lost today, probably 1st of many. HA!

So anyway, I found BFE, er, I mean the Amish Flea Market place, and sure enough, I was first one there too! After looking around, I found out I was the ONLY one there, period. Hmmm.

Could I have the wrong place? No, the address on the building matched the address on my almost reliable print out from MapQuest. Hmmm.

Could everyone else have missed that "Hope" turn too and be lost? Naa, it was 11 am by then, surely one other Fiero would have been there besides me.

I called a friend and had him look up the event info on the COFE website, hoping it had been delayed for weather or whatever... naaa ... event was Saturday, not Sunday.

What a dork I am!

So, I drove home, disappointed that not only did I miss my first Fiero show ever (I only just bought my 87 silver GT 3 weeks ago), but I had pre-registered, losing $20 in the process.

On the brighter side, being the only participant (and therefor the only judge) at Sunday's show, I did win "Best In Show" ... or whatever it's called.

Note to self: check date of 20th Anniversary show BEFORE going.)

Your replies of laughter, and/or pity will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hey, sorry the show dates got mixed up for you. Guess you had better weather to drive around Ohio then we did. Saturday it rained most of the day. I really hate it when it rains at the car shows, but when you have to leave home for the show in the rain is really the pits.

We at C.O.F.E. don't want you to miss our next outing, or go away mad, so we will see to it you will get your fee back. But of course, we expect it back next year.

Just tell me have you done any mods to your car or is it stock? Any engine work or suspention bits. I really feel like I missed out too now. I love looking at differnt fieros. Oh well we'll see ya at the next one. AuNROD that is awesome to refund the money. Or if their were any door prizes left he could get one of those. I liked my door prize.

Well, thanks for the offer, but it was my mistake about the date, not COFEs, so you don't have to give me a refund. Also, maybe you couldn't tell it from my "I'm a dork" posting, but i am not mad at anyone but myself :-)

I bought it from a guy in Medina who still listes it on his website at: http://www.brianvereb.com/SilverFieroForSale.htm

The only mods so far are to the sound system: Installed an Sony Xplod Removable Faceplate Head Unit (model # cdx-CA81OX), and I have commissioned PontiacSound to build a center console subwoofer box that will replace the stock center console. It will have an 8” Sony Xplod Subwoofer (model # xs-L81P5), powered by an 480 watt Sony Xplod Amp (model # xm-280GTX), to be mounted either behind the passenger seat (I hope) or the trunk.

I have also had an Alarm/Remote Starter installed.

As far as my other plans, since it still has the orginal 16 year old factory tires and only has had oil changes, I think those issues (tires/rims and tune-up) will be next.

Hey thanks now at least I got to see the car. Good find under 50,000 miles you don't see too many of those. Congrats on your purchase. Maybe we will see ya at the 20th.

Thanks for the kind words and the offer.

BTW, the gentleman who sold me my Fiero, also had an 86 gold GT w/ low miles for sale. I almost went with it (what I found wrong with my limited inspection abilities was the temp. gauge needle had fallen off, the trunk release button didn't work [but you could still use the key to open it], there was a slow leak in the fron pass. tire, and the bottom of the drivers door was scraped [like opening it against a sidewalk that was too tall...the rest of the paint and interior was like a 9 out of 10) but choose the silver one because the interior was easier on the eyes. Know anyone who might want to check it out, heres the link:
