We just contacted the hotel to reserve an additional night and the hotel told us that the show has been CANCELLED and is being rescheduled for sometime in October. Cancelled???? Rescheduled in October? Who can make it out there in October?? School is back in then and vacations have long past gone. People didn't go to some shows this year so they could go to this one, and msot have gotten time off from work to go, etc, etc, etc. Someone needs to step forward here real quick here and let us all know what is going on???

I think you might want to give them a call back... there have been no such changes made to any plans by anyone about the 20th Celebration. Maybe you just got the "new guy"?

About 30 minutes ago now my Dad called the hotel in Michigan to reserve an additional night and the hotel told him that all the reservations have been cancelled because the 20th show had been cancelled! What is going on??? Or is this just some kind of misunderstanding?? Where are the people from the Michigan Fiero club and CFOGI to shed some light on this?

OK Minn, we are calling them back at this moment. Will see what they say this time. Man I hope that was just a mistake they made in telling him that. My Dad was freaking out there
Steve- I am the N.Central Deputy Director for CFOGi - I just got off the phone with the Marriott in Pontiac/Centerpoint and no one I spoke to was aware of any changes in the plans for next week...
The group rate may no longer be available (that apparently expired on July 3rd). Currently they do still have rooms available... I was quoted $149/night for the first night, and $109/night after that.
I hope this clarifys the situation. Nothing has changed! and the show is proceeding as planned!

Well, I am still waiting to hear back from Dad who was calling them back to again. Whoever he talked to that told him that it had been cancelled ought to be fired, or at least flogged with a wet squeeling alt belt!!

The guy that my Dad originally talked to had said that our reservations had been cancelled by a lady named Heidi. When my Dad asked why, they said that the show had been cancelled and was being rescheduled in October. So, my father just got off the phone with the hotel "again" after demanding to talk to someone who would know what was going on. They looked it up and found the person he originally talked to that had told him it had all been cancelled. They nicely opologized and said that just our reservations had been accidently cancelled and the guy made the mistake of then assuming it was because the show had been cancelled. How he came up with october and all that sounds very wierd to me. Must be a Mustang owner! LOL We want to opologize for sounding such a quick alarm, but you all have to understand that we had to find out ASAP if this was true as we have a bunch of 20th anniversary commemorative shirts being made up that due to a money problem the original purchasers ended up backing out of being able to pay for them. So my Dad very nicely is fronting all the costs for them on his own so they will still live and Fiero owners everywhere can purchase these sweet t-shirts. We didn't want to get stuck owning a bunch of useless shirts with the wrong info and date etc, etc. knowwhatimean?
As for the dufuss that told my father that crap about it all being cancelled, I guess it's hard to find good help these days He better not be working the counter when we check in. I just might have a wet alt belt with me LOL
Again we opologize. You can all go ahead and breath again now Cliff, maybe you could make this thread just dissapear now so it doesn't continue to confuse anyone? Just a thought.
