Well, as all of you are, I have been looking forward to the 20th Anniversary Show in Pontiac since it was announced. I had gone ahead and made my hotel reservations, and pre-registered. However, I've been on the fence on whether or not I'd be able to go...I have a daughter who goes to school in North Carolina, and I have another trip back there in the fall to take her back for her sophomore year. Money is a bit tight right now, and I wasn't sure how I'd be able to afford two trips, let alone one.
Well, after a lot of soul-searching, and penny pinching, I finally decided on Saturday that my wife and I would come. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity (as Fiero5's shirts emphatically state), and to miss it would be more than foolish.
Sunday morning, my wife suffered a mild heart attack. She's doing alright, is stable, no pain, and is in good spirits. However, they are taking her into a larger hospital in a town close to here to have a heart catheterization done. Her enzyme levels, while elevated, are VERY low, and the doctors are optimistic that the damage to her heart is minimal. However, this has, in no uncertain terms, changed my plans for attending the 20th.
I want to thank CFOGi, and the Michigan Club, for putting on this event. I am extremely envious of all of you that are able to attend. Cheever, Dale, Bob Holtz, and the rest of the committee are to be commended for pulling this off. This could be just the thing that gets CFOGi off and running. I hope that those of you that are not members yet will consider joining...we need your support!
Please...to those of you that go, take lots of pictures, and post them here so that those of us that can't go will at least get a little taste of what it was like. I am extremely disappointed that I won't be able to go...but sometimes, there are more important things that need to be taken care of. I was looking forward to seeing old friends again, and meeting a lot of new ones. I truly hope that this event, or something similar to it, will become an annual one...and that I might get the chance to attend one of those.
Have a great time...and drive safely. I hope to see ALL of you back here after the show.

My prayers go out to you and your wife. I'll do my best to take as many pictures as I can for you.
This is 2 times well have missed the chance at meeting. and I was really looking forward to meeting you. Next trip out to Iowa we'll hook up for sure and I'll do my best to havea 20th Shirt for you.
Man this is really depressing me. I have thought about ways to help and can't offer much as I'm very strapped right now. If your wife can travel I can offer 3 nights in a Holiday Inn Express (priority Club).

So sorry to hear about your wife. I hope that she continues to improve and will fully recover. I'm also sorry that you both can't make it. I will not be going either - but I am keeping you and your wife in my thoughts. Take care.

Sorry to hear about your situation, especially with you wife.
I don't know if CFOG-I is going to refund your registration and banquet money, but if not, I know of two people that procrastinated and neglected to pre-register for the show and get banquet tickets. I don't think banquet tickets are available anymore, so if they could take your place I know Joe (FieroGT 914) would be more than happy to pay you for them at full face value and send you the money.
E-mail me (kjslish@yahoo.com) if you are interested and I'll get Joe in contact with you (I'm not sure he's been on the forum mich of late).
Thanks, Ken S.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and kind words of concern! It is greatly appreciated. When I left her last night, she was in extremely good spirits. Her cath is scheduled for today, so we'll know exactly what happened, and how much damage was done.
MinnGreen, knowing you, you'll have a pic of just about EVERYTHING! So, I know I won't be disappointed. linenoise, I, too, am sorry we've missed each other not once, but twice! Next time will be the charm...and yes, next time you're out this way, make sure you let us know...musicman and I will definitely be there! I appreciate the offer of the hotel room, but my wife won't be in any shape to travel, and she's going to need me around here for a while until she gets back to speed. kslish, I've sent you an email on the banquet ticket I have...let me know what's going on. Hank, KEV, jetman, and MyYellowFiero, thanks to you all for your words of support! And musicman...get your ass over here and mow my lawn...
Thanks again, my friends...

My thoughts and prayers go out to your wife and your family. I'm glad to hear she's doing ok. I was looking forward to meeting you at the 20th, but you are right, some things are much more important.
I'll have a digital camera at the show and plan on taking LOTS of photos. I'll post as many as Cliff will let me!

My thoughts and prayers go out to your wife and your family. I, too, am glad to hear she's doing ok. I can completely empathize - last year, I had to go through quad-bypass surgery, and missed Fiero shows.
Along with all the others, I'll have a digital camera at the show and plan on taking LOTS of photos. I'll share whatever I can!
