Here we are on the way.
We headed out about 1pm Thursday afternoon as I had a class to teach until noon time. We headed south down 91 and then headed into Bennington VT and into NY. In this first pic we stopped at a gas station Thursday evening and I got lucky and caught a few nice pics of our Fieros with the sunset in the background:

Then we stopped over in Buffalo NY for the night as it was affter 9pm and we were bushed.

The next day was a long ride up into Canada. BTW: If you have kids with you and don't happen to have any documentation that proves that they are "your" kids, the border people can get a bit edgy which can delay you for quite awhile

Anyway, we finally got out of the border check point and traveled for about 5 hours straight right accross a straight and flat highway thru Ontario Canada. We averaged about 90 miles an hour for 4 to 5 hours straight.
We then arrived back into the US and were quickly heading down thru Michigan.
Then we found the hotel. WOW!
Look at all the Fieros allready here!

Here is Jordan helping out after we arrived:

Here he is posing with the one and only...Skitimes awesome ride:

More pics in a bit.

Steve

More pics:

Here it is folks, the one and only REAL Indy Fiero pace car!!!!

Ooohhh, purdy engine

This is an interesting hole. I bet a camera was mounted in there?

And I am sad to report that these are per say hub caps, though pretty ffancy ones. The outer steel hub cap is bolted down various bolts around the inside of the bowl

As I am sure that there are others that are also taking still pics, I am focusing on shooting a ton of video and not worrying that much about lots of still pics.
Here are a few more though of what I had taken earlier.
Here is a new set of tail light assemblys for my Indy that I picked up for a great price from another fellow Indy owner here at the show. Though my Indy has less than a 100K original miles on it the lenses were starting to look pretty sad.

The shiny new right one is in and the shiny new left one is ready to go

There should be Centerlines behind those hubcaps. Can you confirm (get on your hands and knees and look in those tiny holes ). An IMSA pace car had those same hubcaps with Centerlines behind them.

Hey Steve...(or anyone else for that matter)
Could you try to get some good interior shots of the pace car. Some advertisements show it to be brown, some grey...Just wondered what color it and the trim package was?

Thanks (OH...And WOW! are you people fortunate to be there)

I looked through the holes... They look to be steel wheels?? There's another car here with Centerlines, and the ones behind these hub caps don't look anything like them. Right behind the holes, all you can see is a round ring of black metal - which I'm assuming is part of a stamped steel wheel. Maybe they just chromed the outer lip to make them look right? **** EDIT **** I took a closer look at the wheels, and while they're not the same Centerlines as on the yellow / black "bumblebee" race car, they aren't normal "stamped steel" wheels. Through the holes in the hub caps, you can see what look like black rivets, similar to the Centerlines.. But, that's about all you can see besides the ring that I thought looked like stamped steel.. They probably are Centerlines.. Too bad we can't take the caps off! Oh yeah - and here is the last Fiero... It wasn't open, so I have no idea if it's signed or not... And the factory convertible...

I took full video of just about everything, the Fieros at daytime, at nightime all lit up with lights flashing (you should see SkiTimes!), some of the judging, Fieros driving around, the 90 proto and all the other GM cars from all sorts of angles AND I took some great video of the "last 88" with the signatures BEFORE they locked her up

And I am shooting even MORE footage!! I think I am at about 3 hours of footage at this point. Should I film even more? Hell yeah!! Plus, I also just walk around and film every so often so hopefully the viewer(s) will get some kind of a feel of almost actually being here

So, who wants to buy a copy when I get home??

What kind of wheels are that on the prototype? I've been looking forever for wheels that look the same as the stock wheels - just bigger, like 16" or 17".

Cliff, the wheels on the 90 prototype are (or at least look like) 86-92 Firebird GTA 16" rims. There fairly easy to find, but I think you would have to moddify your hubs because there a bifferent bolt pattern.

Looks like they swapped out the Centerlines on the flip-top for some ugly rims.

Anyone notice the faring for the mirrors? Kinda cool.

Cliff, the rims appear to be a newer version of the GT rims that they were playing with.
I have a few pics but there are others that will (or have allready) hopefully post pics that have much better detailed pics of the rims (and other parts of the 90.
One guy here even laid out a tape measure and snapped pics down over each section of the 90 proto type, front, back, etc. to get as exact dimensions as he could.
Saturday afternoon they then opened up the 90 and let us take lots of pics AND sit in it for photo-ops!!! They popped the decklid too.
Thats right, I have two pictures of me sitting IN the 90 proto as well as footage of the engine and so on!
Oh yeah, got video of the interior and the speedo and all too

Gotta go.

See ya

Well, about 30 minutes ago we arrived back home safe and sound.
The Fieros both ran awesome on the way home. I think my Dads GT ran much better on the way home with that FIRST place trophy in it
Will post pics later once I get some much needed rest.

It was a blast!

OK, now that I can see straight again I will begin to post "some" of the many pics that I have.
I did focus more on shooting a lot of digital video footage as I saw hundreds of other people taking tons of still pics.
I will post some that I think are not just duplicates of what I have seen so far from others.

OK then, here we go:

300+ Fieros at night

Cleaning late Friday night

Jen cleaning at 2am

Another sweet Indy being cleaned

I tried to take some night pics to give everyone a feel of the night life that went on late into the next morning.
Another night shot

Here is My Dads GT and my Indy at about 2:15am

Here I am taking my turn cleaning my Indy. The cleaning area had been busy every second of the day and night. Finally it quieted down a bit and gave me a chance to finally do mine. It was a nice spot around the side that the hotel had set up for all of us Fiero nuts to use
It is certainly a unique experience trying to clean a car at night.
This is about 2:45am

Saturday morning!!!! Day of the actual show.

Over 400 Fieros in attendance makes it tough to "try" and take just a few pics to attempt to get them all

...or actually IN the 90!!

I wonder who's this one is??

The ghost flames and checkered effect on this one was incredible!

This convertable with roll bar was one of my Dads favorites

The Raptor!!!

LOVE the paint job Dale. I think that was the only Fiero, that I saw anyway, with sparklies in the paint:

My still needing to be cleaned interior showing off my Indy steering wheel

This was pretty cool. A plastic front aero nose protector. Fred, the owner of ther car, said that these were actually available to buy for a time for the aero nose Fieros

BTW: Thanks again Fred for the use of the steering wheel puller

This was the other real Indy they brought out for us to all drool over:

It did not have some things like the first one like the cutout in the right rear tail lense for the camera.

More pics to come

Steve
