There is a LOT more venting areas in the 90 prototype compared to the regular Fieros. I can't tell but it seems like more than twice...would that 3.2 DOHC be producing much more heat than the 2.8?

It would be perfect for the V8s, more space for heat to escape

Horsepower is heat energy that needs to be transfered by air movement or coolant system. The larger venting helps lower the compartment temperatures so that the radiator fan is not running constantly.
