My GF and I ended up leaving late Saturday night. We only live 3 hours away, so everything was fine.
When we left for the store today (2pm) we heard there was a Tornado Warning for Berry and Calhoun Counties in Michigan. These are counties that I-94 West goes through, so I was worried for the fiero owners that may have taken that route.
Hopefully everyone is okay...

Well I went on the poker run this morning before we left. On the way home on the Ohio Turnpike we saw a silver Fiero GT come flying by, Who was that? Who ever is was if you passed a White Fiero Formula and a Red 86 SE in a row. That was me and Rick from Cleveland Fieros.

I got home with no problems and had a great time at the show. I was surprised to see a car from the show in my home town. I was turning a corner not far from home and saw Spooky.

We took I-94 West without any problems, just humidity and a few clouds. Although we did detour through Chicago and just happen to buy my wife a Fiero but that story will come later after we pick it up later this week.
Me and the blue 87 i travelled with got home just fine, and i found my newly painted white 87GT waiting for me at home with..... No ground effects on it... i found out that my ground effects had some cracks in them and the body man wanted to see if he should fix them or if i can find some good replacements before he paints.... I WANT TO REPLACE OFCOURSE!

Almost got clocked by a SUV, twice on the way back from Milan. There sure must be something very important to talk about on the phone while you blindly change lanes at highway speeds. I'm just fine. Also had a brake caliper lock up partialy on the way back home Saturday. Oh well, my upgrade will begin a little sooner. Keeping all Fiero owners in my prayers for a safe journey.

Got home safe and sound with the car intact (thankfully since I was worried about pushing it like I did at Milan and Waterford). Of course, I still have the exhaust leak on the turbo, a now partially clogged original cat converter, and a small vibration in the rear end. I think the cat happened on the 320 mile trip there and Waterford didn't help, and I believe the vibration is due to maybe a stick on wheel weight being thrown off at Waterford (it wasn't the smoothest track in some areas) causing a rear wheel to now be out of balance.
All minor details.....cause it was a heck of a lot of fun! The car took the abuse like a champ.

Boomtastic and I arrived home today at 10 am after a late start yesterday, a stop at Niagra to see the falls, a few gas stops and a trip to Krispy Kreme we made it as far as Utica NY, at 12:30am we pulled off into a rest area and caught a few hours of sleep before getting back on the road at 5am.
Our trips up and back were uneventful. And our stop at the falls was well worth the extra time!!!! Thanks to Jaime, Bob, Lou and Lexie for sharing the trip back through Canada with us.
Carolyn & I got home today around 12:30 , but we stopped over last night in Cherokee,NC. We had 7 cars cruising down I-75 to Knoxville,Tn when we split up. The little red T-Top Formula did just great!!! It never missed a beat!! It has been known to eat modules on long trips!! 14 hours total driving time.

We had a little trouble on the way out Thursday afternoon. At one point we stopped to get some gas, and we noticed I had a serious oil drip under the Indy. I had lost a lot of oil in the rear and when my Dad took off the speedo cable so he could take the bolt off to refill as he figured out that it was almost out of oil which also caused oil to blow all over the back of my shiny white Indy After he fixed that I was good to go, BUT now my speedo cable/gear now needs to be fixed. When we arrived later in Buffalo Thursday night, my Dad was so tired that he accidently turned the corner into the hotel parking lot to tight and went up on the curb which with a Fiero is usually not a good thing to do. After he came to stop we saw a trail of radiator fluid from that point on the curb all the way to his parked GT. We obviously thought the worst at the moment. As it turned out the "bump" up onto and then back off the curb only popped off the overfill hose from the overfill bucket to the radiator, causing the fluid in the overfill bucket to pour out on the ground. He popped the hose back on and he was good again. >whew< The trip back home was pretty uneventfull, except for my being absolutely exhausted from staying up Saturday night into Sunday morning to take in and film more of the 300 Fieros in the parking lot night life that went on until about 2:30am. Then right after getting to sleep I had to get right back up at 4:30am to start the 16 hour trip back home
Was it worth it though? Heck yeah!!!

Chris and I had an extremely boring trip home, except for avoiding the morons that insisted on driving right beside us to look at the Finale for 15 miles.........
We left the Marriot at 10:00 am yesterday morning and landed in KC at a dump of a motel (American Inn, NOT recommended) at about 12:50 am last night. That's 880 miles in 14:50 for an average of 59.3 mph.
That may not sound too impressive, but remember we were pulling a trailer and had 3 gas stops as well as one quick meal. We got back home (another 230 miles later)just before 12:00 noon today. Not that shabby for a run-down 23 year old Scout pulling an 18' trailer with a POS 18 year old car that is most likely to catch fire at any moment.
BTW, the route down I-69 to Indy was about 55 miles shorter than up I-55 to Chicago for us,and we had NO construction delays and NO tolls on the route.

Well, no problems getting home for me. My 03 chevy truck pulls my 16' trailer and Fiero like it is not even there. Mapquest calls it a 19 hour 53 minute trip, I did it in 18 hours straight.
Glad everyone seem to have fun at the 20th event. CFOGi thanks all of you.

Hey, that run down old Scout looks pretty darn good to me. You don't see too many of those anymore with metal below the belt line.
I didn't get to meet you, but I do remember the gold/bronze sort of color Finale on the trailer, you had pulled right up to the back of my rented blue Cavalier for a bit.
Nice ride, both of them.

It was so cool watching his 3.4 GT towing a Formula w/ dolly.
Alot of the truckers thought it was neat also.
After reaching Tenn, we split up and I drove the rest of the way alone. Along the way, I spotted a yellow GT, spoke on the CB, He also was at the show, didn't get his name.
The last few hundred miles were the hardest, as I was exausted.
The only trouble I had was with the trailer, had to stop & reposition the car inside, as it was fishtailing really bad going down those mountains. After that it was fine.
Lord it was scary with those 18 wheelers blasting past at 80 - 90 pushing the truck & trailer with the wind while flying by.
Glad I went, but glader to be home at last !!!
It was nice seeing old friends & making new ones.

You should have come out to the back lot on Friday night after the drags. Anyone that showed up got Beer, Cigars, or Cokes or Cherry Cokes (or some of us had all the above). We considered it the award for being brave enough to come out to the back of the show.
Next time, tell me who you are!! I wonder how many other members I saw and know from here and other places that I still have no idea who they are? We were right across from Her86GT and I never did make it over there to say "hi" either. I got to look at the install, but by the time I got there I think they went to eat on Saturday. Very nicely done system in that car. I admire that kind of fabrication skill.
I did get to meet a lot of people, just not enough.

Very nicly said John now was you refering to the 4.9 Turbo or something else? LOL J/K
And remember Kelley? [DROOL] OMG [/DROOL] This goes no farther than the HOOTER'S towel!
Got home okay but lost my alternator on the way...
You too?!
Sorry I didn't get to meet you and Pete. Saw you in line to get classified. That was the last time.
Alternators... I discovered that if you don't use the A/C (or much of anything else) you can drive for 3-4 hundred miles on a toasted alternator (like, say... Dayton to Knoxville). I also discovered that when the battery finally *does* go flat, it will do it all at once. At the most inconvenient place. I also discovered that the Tennessee DOT doesn't carry jumper cables. Glad I had my own. (purchased earlier in the day).

I made the trip safe and sound in *almost* record time. My previous best average speed is 74 mph and this time it was 72 mph. Mind you, this includes all stops from the time I left Michigan to the time I arrived to Alabama. I've made the round trip about eight times now, so I didn't even have to look at my atlas all weekend long!
I passed the guy hauling an SCCA racecar with a black work truck right before stopping for gas. I passed the red NSX I saw at all of the events but couldn't see through the tint to recognize a face (WHO WAS THAT?) and they followed me for a while, but I think I was going faster than they were comfortable with. I caught up with the caravan headed south on I-75 shortly afterwards. I was stuck in slower traffic for a couple miles with them, long enough to decide I didn't want to be "held up" by cruising with the group as I was really in a hurry. I couldn't afford the time for extra stops and slower cruising speed, but I would have liked to cruise with them. I passed them and cruised on home, made it back just as the sun was going down. To those in the caravan, no disrespect intended, I just couldn't afford the time.
All in all, the trip went very smoothly. I only stopped at one crappy gas station (took ten minutes just to use the bathroom) and managed to get two middle fingers...which I quickly returned with a wave and a thumbs up (I don't give the finger, so I just use do sarcastic things to humor myself). Someday the minivan/SUV drivers will understand that the left lane is intended for PASSING, not just anybody going over the speed limit...someday, I hope.
well spped and time arent relative I found with carvan it took the same amout of time due to less stops as where driving 80 to 85 MPH casued me to consume more fuel adn make more stops I subtracted the TIRE stops and Alot of the traffic stops from teh trip up tho so I maybe a bit off on my figures since We hit alot of traffic up but i didnt meet any hardly on teh wasy down

I'm halfway back. Staying in Denver tonight. We drove to St. Louis (by way of Indy, quick stop at the track) on Sunday and Denver today. One more stop, then we should be home Wednesday.

My car seems to get the best mileage around 80 mph average speed, but even at 90 it still gets 25+ no matter what on the highway. I get about 25-30 mpg on the highway all the way from an average of 60 mph to 95 mph! I averaged about 28 mpg on the way back, even got 30.1 once, which is my best yet with the 3.4 engine. I don't think it would have been possible for the caravan to stop less than I did, only three fuel stops.
If I hadn't hit traffic in Michigan I probably would've beat my old record...why is it that 90% of road construction seems to go on Sundays, could it be the Sunday pay? I never subtract the traffic/construction time...that's like corrected horsepower numbers, cheating if you ask me!

Safe trip home. Broke camp (Pontiac Lake) at 3:45 AM and on the road at 4:00 AM
Return trip was about 80 miles and 3 hours shorter than the trip to the show cause we were awake and knew where we were going.
Brief stop in Niagara Falls to break up the 720 mile ride.
Spotted a Caravan / Voyager burnt to the frame on the NY Thruway.
Got home (Rhode Island) a few minutes before 4:00 PM.
Thanx to all who organized / publicized the 20th anniversary.
Thanx to Gokart Mozart for the camping idea.
Thanx to Xantavar (and Nancy), DJ Draggin, Oslo, and the rest of the campers for a great time.

That was me. I don't post here often, so you probably don't know me unless you come down for the show in Florida, or go to RFTH...it's been quite some time since I made it to an out-of-state show until this one. Unfortunately, neither of my Fieros were running well enough to make the 3000+ mile roundtrip drive so I had to take the daily driver.
I was behind you for a while but since I wasn't attached to your bumper, I kept getting stuck behind slow moving vehicles in the left lane. I wasn't far behind you until we caught up to the caravan, then I stayed behind them for a little while. Right as I caught up, the caravan of Fieros over the rolling hills looked like it would make a nice scenic picture, so I tried to get one, but we hit traffic shortly after so these were the best I got:
we made it home good, cept we were really tired cuz we were up at 5 am to catch our plane.
jstricker, I think I met you at the show, you were with Blake and another guy who's name I didn't catch on I guess it was Friday night when you guys came over to Scott (fierce_gt) 's car. Your Finale kicks ass man!
And Sketch, that NSX is awesome, I have it in my vid a couple of times but my bro wanted to see more of it lol.
And FieroSound, I didn't talk to you at the show, I was kinda busy going around video taping and charging my cameras battery to meet many people. But I'll see you here in Winnipeg on Thursday. I can't wait to hear that system.
