I happen to meet John Lithgow waiting for the elevator after the banquet. I had a nice chat with him in the lobby and a brief talk about the 20th show as Rob (MinnGreenGT) can attest to in the elevator.
I also wanted to mention that I had an outstanding time. It was great to meet everyone I especially had a blast with Mr. Mike and Eric (Boomtastic). I also had fun talking with someone from Colorado but did not get his name. I think he was the guy taking all the official pitures of the show. I just kept calling him Colorado all weekend. I hope to see you all again soon as well as meet a lot more of you. Take care Vince
[the following is only an approximation based on what I can remember] As we all packed into the elevator (John was in the middle of everyone - and about a head taller), there was a brief hush and looked [up] at him and questioned "In the middle of quite an odd crowd, aren't you?" - he replied "Oh yes, the Fiero crowd... maybe a little concerned that I'll be going home in the trunk of one". Then someone (I assume it was you Vinman) said "I guess you haven't seen the trunk on one?" and John responded "Oh I have, I walked the lot and looked at the cars while they had the decklid open" ...and about then the door opened and I departed.
A Fun encounter although I have no idea why he was there!?
Yup, that is pretty much how the elevator conversation went Rob. After you got off the elevator he talking about how he went for a walk to see the cars earlier in the day and was very impressed with the condition of all the cars. I made the crack about the trunk because he was so tall. He said he was there on business and I did not want to seem pushy and keep asking him questions. I was telling him in the lobby that an hour before I drove up on Friday I was watching a re-run of "3rd rock from the sun" and had a great laugh because it was the episode where he was all depressed because he found out he was Canadian. He told me that was one of his favorite episodes because of all the subtle one liners in it. When I told him I was from Toronto he just luaghed and said "you must have got all the punch lines then" All in all it was a great addition to an already awesome weekend.

You know the strange thing is we all probably saw John and never even realized it. I wonder if he had a favorite from the show. Oh well. Now I can say that our cars were viewed by someone famous.
