I was wondering if anyone at the 20th got a look at the engine bay of the GM bumblebee Formula to see what engine it had. In the 87 Hotrod magazine article it had a Duel overhead cam Super Duty and 4 supertrap mufflers that you can see out the back, and would run low 13’s. But all the pics from the 20th I’ve seen it looks like a regular V6 exhaust, check out the pics. Just a little curious, any thoughts

I had heard they had problems with the original motor. I have not been able to confirm this. The original motor was a still born GM race motor that I only ever saw used in this car. They listed part# in Hot Rod Mag but never released them? The engine was to be used in IMSA in the GTP light Fiero's, but they used the standard SD up till ther end.
The DOHC Super Duty took a crap from what I understand. GM did install a 2.8 V-6 So now its just a normal Fiero with drag racing chassis parts on it. I think GM installed the 2.8 so they could have the car for ocassions such as the 20th.

The web page (which is no longer up) that I got the pictures from said they were built to camel light specs. It didn't mention what cars they were used in.
