I would like to thank both Blake and John for scouting out East Texas for the RRRR this weekend and for running the event. Also thanks to Ray and his wife for bringing the shirts and plaques. Thanks to Revin for letting me ride in his Fiero at, err.., a brisk pace. I would also like to thank Loyde and Chuck for their help in planning the run.
All of us were surprised at both the number of attendees and from whence they came – San Antonio, Houston, Austin, DFW, Tyler, and Oklahoma. I had an absolute blast meeting everyone and cruising around with the 14+ Fieros. (I am not exactly sure on the count.) We definitely got attention everywhere we went, and I can not wait to do it again next year, hopefully in Austin – (ahem Revin!) I have posted a photo gallery of the photos I took, and a few videos as well. They can all be accessed here:
This was our first Red River Ruckus. We understand that there were a lot of issues in getting the event organized. With that in mind, I would suggest that future events should have as little organizing as possible! Heidi and I feel that the event went perfectly - we both had a blast and could not imagine how it could have been any better!
We really enjoyed our caravan (both ways) with Robert, Richard, and Paul (also known as "Breezy Feet"), and of course Revin Kevin! The photo shoot at the state park was a great idea and the boat ride on the byuuuue (must pronounce that correctly) with Captain Revin Kevin was an absolute blast! Thanks to Blake and John and everyone that attended! Can't wait to do it again!
We have lots of pics but out camera is broke and we can't download them yet. The pics are safe but we have to get the camera fixed before we can get them on the computer. Heidi will be making scrapbooks - will keep you posted when they are available.
OMG You were TAPEING the boat captain!!!! crap! I did not know! sneeky!
Great meeting ya Will ! Come on down and go for another ride!!!Drive?
Yeah, the second vid of you should be up some time today, and I will post the Rollout vid also. For some reason they did not post correctly. Thanks again for the ride, I will take you up on that drive also!! WOO WOO!!

Thanks for the video! And many, many thanks to blakeinspace and JohnF for their time & trouble.
I love Meras.
And revin kevin deserves some special recognition for Most Improved Car!!! Well done, my friend!
So, nobody minded that this wasn't actually held on the Red River?
Let's hear some ideas for next year's location!
We can do the Fiero Rodeo games again, IF we have enough volunteers, such as everyone who submits an idea for a game be the person who runs that station.

I too would like to thank everyone for there time. Blake nice job the boat ride was fun. Kevin showed much better judgement driving the boat than he did the car. Doug thanks for letting me ride with you all weekend. And a monsterous thank you to Mike Bowles for letting me drive his Mera. Wow was that fun. Also for anyone who is undisisve as to what engine swap ride in a 3800sc car. That blower is the greatest sound ever. Also it is great how the speedometer moves like it is a tach, even if you are in 5th gear.
BTW Chuck I just checked my PMs I will send you some money here directly, sorry I did not pay there he was unsure weather or not I was supposed to. I went ahead and paid for my extra Ruckus shirts though, he did not know I was supposed to but I did so went ahead and paid.
Thanks again to all for making this such a great trip.

----Edit---- Forgot to mention. Steve it was nice to meet you, sorry we did not get a chance to shoot the breeze. Did you make it back with your car. Did you have to drive Kevins back while he trailered yours. If so that must have been brutal LOL. Hope you get it running again. ------------------ Bandwidth Conscious signature---Home Page

Chuck, Thank you my friend!! The "famed" 2nd place ugliest car award went to SmoothGT this year. We desided that whoever gets that award will work that much harder to get their ride finished! We should keep that around Steve will have to be the one to "pass it on" next to whoever AFTER his car is done.
We all had a great time and with no "red river" but a dirty bog worked for us anyway! haha
The next year's event will happen in Austin! I think I will call it the Revin River Ruckus !?!?!?!

Sounds great! Pray tell, what color is Revin River? Just curious. Like, On Golden Pond... they wouldn't be out swimmin' in it, if they knew what made it golden!

I LOVE that idea of the "Revin River Ruckus" name. That's even better than the one I came up with. "Ruckus City Limits"
Chuck..., Kevin was wanting something in Austin anyway at some point, and he volunteered to coordinate for next Ocotber... much to the happiness of the San Antonio group. I hope we can bring back the games and trophies, that really made the 1st show special.
Also, in the rum circle, it was discussed that the Ruckus should roam the SW with anyone willing to host it. Next year will be Ocotber, but someone will come forward and volunteer the next location. I would not be against Houston, OKC, Tulsa, Granbury, Corpus.... just anywhere we can gather. Heck, maybe Don and Jane could show us good time in San Angelo!
revin, any help you might need... I will make sure Tony provides Nah, j/k, JohnF and I will be honored. Later.

The Red River Roundup Redux Revisited (RRRRR)hosted by Revin (is that RRRRR(R)?)in the Austin area would be great.
I vote for a cruise to the LBJ ranch and tour there. A meeting and games at the LBJ camp/picnic site nearby or Pedernales Falls State Park would be fun. A meeting/games around Lake Buchanan and a Longhorn cavern tour would work great also.
Lots of possibilities in the Austin area.
Just let me know what you would like for me to do and count me in.
