I've been reading various threads and every once in a while somebody says "I got xx.yyy ET" 0-60 or 1/4 mile.
Then somebody comes on the thread says flat out that they don't believe (in other words calling a guy a liar) the stated time.
Now why don't we talk about this behaviour?
When we go to the track with friends, there is normally somebody around, and most of us go with other Forum members. If we say "my car does xx.yyy" and we go to an event, we know we had better be able to back up our claims or lose major face.
I too was so much as being called a liar about my times, until I posted my time slip, but why do this in the first place? How many guys have posted fraudulent times on the Forum? I'll bet not many if any.
Moreover, I respect the work guys do on their rides. I read with great interest when somebody is willing to say "I did this to my engine and look what I got out of it". I don't have the time of day to go casting dispersions when I know that if I meet the contributor he'll have to show up or shut up anyway.
Just my opinion here, and no offense intended, but I am kind if tired of people taking shots at folks who post results for discussion and education purposes. I realize this is a 'pubic' forum and taking a fair shot at somebody over a different point of view is fair ball, but saying "I don't believe you" is just too far for me.
Now I'll get off my soap box.
