Hey guys, most of you know my projects with taillights, both Notchie and Fastback. And most of you will recall my thread dealing with re-doing fastback taillights. If not, take a look at it here. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/038087.html
Here is a quick before and after pic.
Before
And after
I have now done 4 sets, all of which turned out great. Just ask KEV, Purple Reign or MRJ. [I'm sure Matt will chime in here once he gets his back, there have been some strange delays in the shipping.] When I get done with them, they look better than NOS ones. And anyone that has seen them will say the same thing.
Anyway, I am ready to do these for anyone. And the price is pretty reasonable considering the price of NOS ones. Ok here goes. I will do any set for $200, you ship them to me, and the 200 covers the shipping back. Also, you can have them tinted if you want, at either light, med. or dark tint, all of which the light shows through just fine.
Right now, finances are looking kind of grim for me attending the Dells. So, the more orders I can do by then, the more of a chance I have to go. Please do not hesitate to ask me questions, or anyone else that has seen them for that matter.
So, anyone want there's done before The Dells, it will make a great addition to an already great car.
Eric

I am VERY interested, but one question, how long does it take? Also, sorry two questions, do you lend out loner pairs for people that need to drive their cars, just something to basicly hold the lights in place. And do you have pics of the different tinting. Thanks.

I do not want them in my house for more than 2-3 days. So, if you figure that it takes 3 days to ship here and back, you are looking at 9-10 days that you are without them. By my calculations, if you mailed them tomorrow, you would have them back before the Dells. And as far as loaner ones, I don't have anything of that sort at the moment. First of all, I don't have a set to do that with, and second, the shipping back and forth would add to the price a bit. What I would do, is just take some clear packaging tape and tape the colored lenses to the back part, and drive around a few days like that, which is totally legal.

Thanks, Matt
For that, probably looking at 100 bucks, shipped back to your door.

Delam and most scratches are not a big deal, as long as they are not cracked or broken. Color-wise, when they are done, they look black black, not the light black like most people have right now.
Here is a good comp. pic between a near perfect set of lenses and the refinished ones, for color comps.

Shhhh, don't tell nobody.
One other thing that I want to add. Since I am painting over the outside of the lenses, they will never delam again, and the coolest part is that you can wax right over them with the rest of your car, since they have clear coat on them.

just like you, people are trying to get together money for dells
yeah, If you mentioned this a few weeks ago, I would have been a very happy customer of yours, because while my car was in the paint shop you could have been doing my lights. And also I too need money for the dells. But after the dells, my money is as good as yours.

I redid my notchie taillights. They wernt in the best of shape before..... After a days work they look like new. I'm guessing I did them a simmilar way racingman did.
The GT's are for sure way harder and take much more time.

I wanna know what happened to. Believe me Matt, if I knew, you would too. But I will keep my promise to you, that if they are not there by tomorrow, I will replace them at no cost to you. Man I just wish you had them so both of out minds could be at rest about this issue. And again, if/when you do finally get them, please give your honest opinion of them, as you are not a "local" person, aka a friend of mine. So your opinion will mean a lot to me. Weather it's good or bad, I wanna nkow.

First is Shawn's car [Purple Reign] I would probably call this around a med. tint.
Second is Kevin's car [KEV] I would consider his probably towards the darker side of the line.
I'm hope these two monkeys will jump in here and let you guys know what they think of them. The lights actually look a little darker in person, but like I said before, the light shines through really well at night.

How much to do notchie taillights? Since you seem to be the taillight expert; on mine the right taillight looks like it's tinted slightly darker than the other, so the one side is brighter than the other! Would your "process" fix this?

I would have to see them, but as long as it isn't like a night and day difference between the two, it should take care of it. As far as pricing goes: 75 for just clearing [with or without tint], 125 for redoing the top and bottom satin as well, and 200 if you want the P. Vargus kit on it.
Eric
EDIT::: O yea, I forgot, all prices include return shipping.

They look 10X better than when I sent them out. The small stress cracks on the pass side one I wish would have come out more, but the painting, clearcoat and everything on the tail light looks really smooth! THanks Matt Jackson

Yea, I really thought that the stress cracks would be hidden more, but I think the reason that they weren't was because the lenses were not tinted. But I really wish they would have gone away a bit more, but I did notice that in the sunlight, it's pretty hard to see the imperfections. I am glad that you are happy with them, and hopefully, I can make more guys here satisfied customers.

Can you do customization? Instead of "PONTIAC" between the taillights, could you put "FIERO" in the proper script? That would look great!
I could probably do that. . . . but, it would be another test, with no garantees. [sp?] It would be very involved, and I wouldn't know the outcome, but one could always try.
Thanks Zero and Kev.
OK, well, the Dell's is over, and I was able to make it, thanks to work paying for most of my trip. [I love having a real job. ] Obviously that doesn't mean that I won't do them. The Dells was the first big show that the modded lights made it to, if you were there and saw either mine, KEV's or Purple's car, they all were done by me.
I just wanted to shove this back to the top for those who haven't seen it or have forgoten.
They really did look good Eric. If i ever can scrape some money together, i'd like to get mine done but i'll probably have to get a spare set first. I've got wheels and an exhaust to buy first though. :-/ Anyways, free bump. I saw these lights at the dells and they really look great!

I assume that you are wanting to keep the PONTIAC in the middle. If so, then you are probably looking at around 150 shipped back to you, since I don't have to take the extra hour or two to tape off the clear section. That includes redoing the black in the middle and tinting and/or clearing on top of that.

I am willing to pay to have mine done. I am a "local" so next time I see you I'll talk to you about it. I just ordered a new pair off e-bay, so as soon as they get here they'll be ready to be done.
Oh.. and to any of you who are thinking about having him do them, I have seen them and the are AMAZING.

Very cool. Do you have a name so I know who to look for?
Ahh, IC. Thanks Rob. Wonder why he didn't say anything last night when he has over???
I was going to mention it to you but I forgot for some reason. Whenever I get the new ones I will bring them over and see what you can do. There aren't any scratches on them and I don't think that they have any delamination but we'll see when they get here.
