These pics were taken the day we left going to the Knotts Berry Farm show. As far as I know this was the first public outing of his car... I think everyone was impressed! Last I talked to Orville, he was planning to bring this car to WestFest...
This is one slick looking little number. A very cab forward look... Very aggressive! And it has the engine to back it up!
You know, when pictures were first posted of this car I thought it was ok but didn't really love it. But man, has my opinion ever changed. I think it is an amazing machine. If it had just slightly more agressive tires I think it would look incredible. Nice work!

But it seems to need something to break up / tie in the back end a bit.. maybe a diff tail light combo or something Or just 4 light set up.. 3 red/amber and white reverse.. possibly LED set up.
Rest of the car looks great nice work!

It certainly is... unique. I really appreciate how much work it must have been to create the car. But, I don't think the "triangular" areas around the side windows go with the "rounded" angles he's created. If he could round off the area on the A-pillar behind the outside rear view mirror and B-pillar sail panel to creat the illusion of rounded side glass, I think the overall design of the car would flow much better. Of course, that's just my opinion.
The cool thing about Orville is how each experience changes what he does on his next project. He built his first full homemade rebody over 20 years ago on a Volkswagen pan. He still has that car. He first did this little 88 several years ago but it was totally different than it is now and not chopped. It did have the 3800SC engine in it during this first version though.
He took the things he learned from this Fiero experience with he did his custom LS-1 fastback Here is the first version of it. At this point it was just body mods and stock running gear...
Then he decided to do the engine swap and of course a more agressive body to go with it.
And that is where he stands now... Last time I was over there he had taken the LS-1 back out of the fastback for some work and was just putting it back in... And he is planning to use what he learned on this current choptop to chop the fastback. After seeing how Orville learns from each project, I can't wait to see where this one ends up!
