Gotta love that sound. Sounds like it really wants to rev, too.

Smoke looked like condensation to me, as well.

Congrats on a successful project!

Probibly half condensation and half black smoke from running rich. The O2 sensor still needs to be installled. Exhaust shop forgot to make a fitting for the O2... It was cold when I started it, probibly 30*F.

This is a fresh install and first fire up. No idea how long the engine has sat. It was from a 94 GTP that had a street racing accident, last winter I think. They said they had done some work to the motor, I think they may have done the exhaust cam retard, it sounds very cammy/lopy at idle.

Thanks

Don't suppose there is an easy way to tell if a cam retard has been performed? Any other 3.4tdc people out there think it sounds cammier than normal?

Will I be making more then the factory 210hp with the free flowing exhaust and no accessories?

Glad to see you got it running. Will I be seeing you in the spring?

Hopefully then I will be driving my Quad 4 Fiero, see if we can take beat the 4.9's in the club on the highway with our reving engines. What is the redline and HP/TQ on that engine? The Quad 4 I have is 7000 according to the donor car, 180HP and 160TQ is what I have found.

I had Darth set my rev limiter to 7200rpm.

I will come down to Red Deer in the spring for sure. Already told Tim that we have to line our cars up

Stock this motor has 210hp and 220tq, with my less restrictive intake and exhaust with a cam retard I hope to be around 240 at the crank. Maybe 250 with no accessories? I bought a T3/T4 and an intercooler off of another forum member, we'll see when I find the time to install that as well.

Well after hearing those I'd say something is definitly different about my motor. I will have to get ahold of the guy I bought it from and see if he knows what was done to it. I suspect a cam retard but who knows? Mine sounds like a lopey sbc compared to the high winding V-6 its supposed to sound like.

Don't pay too much atention to mine, it's still runing like garbage and I am pulling the engine AGAIN. Gonna do the cam timing and if that does not fix it I may just shoot the bugger......

The link for Fierobsessed isn't working for me. The rest sound awesome! I gotta start searching for one of these for my car.

Edit: Nevermind, the link just worked.

That would be cool I'm going to ask the 60* V-6 board if they can tell by the exhaust sound what has been done to it...
