I've beeen itching to drive my Fiero for the last couple of days. Which was due in part to the sun being out and decent weather around here. Besides, the fact I want to start on getting it ready for the season. I've also been comtemplating some mods over the winter and its really hard to get started when its buried up to the door molding in snow . So today was the day I decided to dig it out, which I might add was no small feat.

As you can see it's parked quite a ways from my driveway and I've been snowblowing all of the snow from this season right in front of it making for some pretty hard packed stuff.

So I got out the mighty Airens ST1032 which is one mean machine! It throws snow a good 30-40 feet., which I hoped would make quick (key word here is quick ) work of this snow. Boy. was I wrong! Even the mighty Ariens with it's 10 horsepower Techumseh Snow King engine, had one heck of a time throwing this wet heavy stuff.(sorry no action pics I was by myself)

Well a little over 3 hrs later and alot of back and forth and back and forth. And hitting some small stumps and some rocks (the Airens also makes a good rock chucker too!) I was finally able to dig out a path wide enough to turn around and drive out!!

I had a hard time getting it unstuck from the tarp that I laid down at the begining of winter. Snow melting from the last few days froze the tires to the the tarp making it a little hard to move! After a few rocks back and forth I ruined the tarp, but got my Fiero free. I'll tell ya there is no better sound than hearing the rumble of 173 cubic inches of pure unadulterated power being unleashed!! Ok maybe not a rumble, and maybe not 173 ci for some of you but, I thought it sounded great.

I don't think my grass will be the same this summer, I guess when all the snow actually melts I'll be able to assess the situation. But hey, it was worth it! I took it for a nice long "I missed driving you drive" and turned a few heads. I was finally able to satisfy the urge that we call an obsession .

Theres my Fiero adventure of the week I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. -Jason

I gotta do that to get to 2 of my parts cars so I can haul them off. Trouble is the snow is so hard and deep right now that a snow blower won't touch it. (Bounces off). Have to chip it down with a shovel then let the blower handle the smaller chunks. Wish me luck. lol

Jason,

I've been away for about a week, I'm down in Raleigh and hoping to come home to melted snow and sunshine. Think I have a chance of finding my Fiero free and clear from its piles of snow... I'm sure there was some meltoff while I was away... Probably not. I'm on my way home today and itching to drive mine too.

Yea my car had to rough it for 6 months too. It ended up staying in the nonheated shop attached to the heated one, lol. Better then being out in the snow, and when it was time for the end of the winter mods I pulled her into the heated one, no ice chipping and snowblowing for me
