hey guys, after the great success of the lenses I restored and put on ebay (see my thread in the mall), I have decided to offer a taillight restoration service such as the one Racingman24 offers. I guess hes backed up pretty good right now, so Im going to catch a little bit of his overflow to help pay a few bills. I will be offering this service for the same price Eric did ($175 for the pair) The thing is, im also really busy with other projects right now, but I can do 1 set a week. So I can schedule a person in, a date to ship them to me, and at the same time be guaranteed a speedy and on time return, as I wont be flooded with 20 sets at the same time. If you are interested send me a PM or email. ryan@fieroX.com

heres the pics of the finished project

Those pics look fantastic, X! Great work!

Will they work on any fastback, or do you have to run 10's before they'll fit?

Hey i never said I wouldnt do them. I can do anything. How much does Eric charge for notchie light restoration? They will be a little less work than the fb lights. No letter taping, and a little less surface area.

I suppose you can do it yourself. I mean people paint their own cars every day. Thats why paint jobs cost $4000, because theyre easy

welp, looks like I might get into doing notchie restoration also. Ive got a set of lenses from Amirs 88 formula Im gonna rework and see how they turn out. Ive also been working on a set of lenses for a forum member, and they turned out awesome. I painted them today, and Ill be sanding/buffing them tomorrow, and Ill have some before/after pics soon. Im also going to make a page on my website for the service. Hopefully Itll work out good. Im impressed so far. Definitely a cheaper option when it comes to having some nice lenses.

Are those mine? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I can't wait, I'm so excited - post a couple pics. As a note to Fierox's possible customers, he's truly been great to deal with in communication and detail. Thanks!

Well if just the outside clear lens is scratched, you can sand them with 600 down to 2000 grit wet sanding and then clear coat them. It works great.

I havent figured out a way to fix cracks yet. I did reduce some of the micro cracks on Kris' lenses, and the clearcoat hid some also. There is 1 that can be seen, but you have to be less than 2 feet away from the surface. Im looking into some type of epoxy that I could use as a filler to "fix" cracks. Id really like to get into doing this for a business, because I know the demand is high for show quality lenses. I'll have some before and after pix of Kris' lenses up soon, and Im going to build a web page with them as my show pieces.

Kris, I think youre going to be very impressed how they turned out. All I have left is to sand and buff the clearcoat, and theyll be ready to ship back. There was 1 microcrack on the PON side lens that didnt come out. Its kinda hard to see, but the 2 on the TIAC side disappeared. They look real good. 10,000x better than before

Thanks bro! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Looking forward to getting them back! I've got another set here I may get you to do, they are the set I'm using on the vehicle right now while you do those ones. They are in much better condition to start.

Thanks for the hard work!

I saw these in person and I must say they are very impressive. They look brand spankin new. He has a set of notchie lenses from my 88 and he is going to restore those and get some pics up of them as well. I will be having my Fastack ones done here pretty soon as well. After Kris sees these lenses, he is going to be totally impressed. Forget buying new lenses for fastbacks, this is where it's at. No more delam!! Later.

Have you found a way to patch holes yet with some type of clear epoxy? Someone just backed in to the back end of my GT and put their trailer hitch through my left tail light assembly. They were perfect before. I can't find a replacement. Any help would be appreciated! The person at fault said they would pay for it so if you can do it, I'll send 'em in.

question... what causes the tail lights to get messed up... is it just because of the age?

Pretty much. I'm sure you know where the scratches and cracks come from. The bubbling and what not is due to delamination. The GT lenses are a 2 part lens, a clear piece with a black piece laminated onto the back of it to give it its look and make the PONTIAC letters. Over time, the 2 pieces start to seperate and you get the delamination bubbles.

Ive looked into it, and i havent found anything that can be done. Probably ebay time. Ive seen on ebay 1 lens in good shape for $75 or so, dont worry if its delam'd real bad, i'll take care of that. Then youll have a $500 set of lenses. Thats what my last ones sold for on ebay. $515 actually

Hey there, fierox, I was just wondering if you were still in the Fastback tail light repair business...I have three. No, my car is not a freak of nature, I bought one on Ebay a long time ago, and it ended up being worse than the one I already had...so I figured I could get all three fixed and throw one back on Ebay!

Let me know if you are still offering your restoration service...they look great!
