Who and what choptop will attend? From talking to several choptop owners so far....Exoticse (#4), JScott (#14), Jim88GT (#10), Dowdian (#16), V8 Archie (#21), and #15. From talking to Archie, he said the Stinger, it's red-hot clone (#18), and the GBCT will attend! I know another person will attend but I'll let him sign-up, hehe. Unlike last year where the "three red ugly ducklings" showed....this year they'll hopefully will be back with completed paint jobs.
What about all other one-off home-brewed choptops. Will they attend?
Here's the V8 Archie choptop list:
1. Purple Pavement Eater....................... 1998 Rich Warber 2. Great Blue Choptop ....................Aug 1998 3. 246 Dino Replica for a guy in Indiana.............. 11-13-98 4. PFF ChopTop ..................................... 11-20-98 (new owner Exoticse 2005) 5. Vasquar ............................................. 9-1-00 6. Steve in Rockford IL..................................... May 2001 7. Stinger .......................................Jan 2002 8. PFF GMGW3 Cary ......................... Sept 2002 9. Gun Metal GT fastback Tacoma Washington ..Oct. 2002 10. PFF Jim's 88 GT Jim Albright ................June 2003 11. Silver Choptop Curley.................. fall 2003 12. Chester's Dirty Rat Rob D............. Oct 2003 13. Black Death GT-X ........... Mar. 2004 14. Proud-1 Jscott1 ................... July 2004 15. Curley's widebody................sept 2004? 16. I hope so too. I'm probably a month away from even starting my paint job. This is taking way longer than I anticipated. But I intend to be there one way or another.

Let's start a homebrewed chop top registry (in no particular order, finished or not, feel free to update):

Just a little clarification, I don't speak for Jeff, Rodney or Dave. I did mention that they all had expressed interest in going to the Daytona show & that it would be nice if it was this Spring's show.
Thanks
Archie

This was based on a quick search in the archive of anyone who said they were working on a chop top
Look for my chop t-top to debut in 2009
Mines still not chopped...yet...but it is in the plans. Somehow the wifes TO DO list doesn't match mine, and the choptop is either not on her list, or so far down there I haven't seen it yet.
Hopefully planning to start after Xmas. Even have the steel I am going to use stiffen up the frame, so I am gathering steam to get started as soon as I can.

I am not finished STILL! Actually, I have not touched it to finish the bodywork--THE CHOPTOP IS FINISHED AND STIFFENED w/ a simi protective cage type around the driver and passengerside area's. I have been really busy and this is the first chance to sit and read in about 3-4 months! I am off today I have been working for an avg. of 6.1 days-----so I am going to try to spend a few hours and surf around PFF to catch up! I will try to post again(somewhere) later.

Steve...aka SMOOOOOTH, how the heck are you?? Last I heard you sold your computer and and your 4.9 and ran into some rough times. Don't know if that's true, butI hope it's a little better for you now.
Don't worry, my car isn't finished either. Real life has a way of getting in the way of finishing these projects. But by next year we should have a few more choptops complete.
New motel this year. The Holiday Inn in Daytona Beach Shore is going condo and the beach washed away during the hurricane season 2004. The Holiday Inn Express is real close to the track, lots of nearby restaurants and lots and lots of parking available for those trailer queens.

Is there a discount code for booking a room online?

Gocarts. There are at least two tracks at the go cart track. A road course and a drag race. When Frank and I visited the place they were just opening for the day and nothing was running.
The place had lots of carts available.

Okay, time for an update: I just got off the phone with Orville. It was a long shot but, I invited him to the Daytona 2006 Fiero Show featuring the choptop union. Well....Orville can't attend. He chuckled at the gesture, hehe. Anyway it would have been nice if he and his wife could. I've personally seen his creations and they are very nice. Yes, Orvilles vision is different but, his talent is very, very hard to beat. Oh yeah, I've seen the guy do push-ups. Not many guys his age can do that..except Jack Lalane, hehe.

I play with show advertisments. Archie can tell us why this photo is not correct (not including the photoshop effect on the background), and whose car this is.
