I just noticed this the other day......... The 1990 kinda looks like "The Wrath" ! However, you may notice that the Wrath has a 5 pointed star (Chrysler) on the nose and in the movie they reference that it is a Dodge. Compare the pictures below.....
Think anyone will ever make a kit?

if I were to do a bod kit, I'd do one of these, black, change a few areas a bit, maybe the hood, and the side scoops, and add a cylon sweep "eye" in the front.
I like his "Knight Rider" nose:

They made a body mold to make quite a few cars base on VW chassies for the actions shot in the movie. I wonder what became of most of them. Chrysler has so much money tied up on the real car they would only use it in the still shots.
Movie companies are notorious on beating cars up. The Califorinia Kit coupe [the real one that was a 30's Ford] was beat to death and had to be redone after the movie. But it made the builders reputation for life. Jake is now famous and part owner of So CAl.

That's what people say, but when I got my car back from the studio after them having it a month it was in the same condition as I had left it.
That Dodge Turbo inteceptor is a hot looking car, even if it's a bit dated. By the way it was called the "Wraith" not "Wrath"
You my friend are one of the few lucky ones. Not all recieve damage but more do than not. We have a local guy here who had two Tuckers and would only loan one as the other was Preston's prototype [the red one on stage was supposed to be it]. He told us even with the extra care that was taken on the set on these expensive cars what damages were infflicted. By the way the Prototype was sold a few years ago to the Peterson Museum. It is just a little different than the rest of the cars and he found it behind a barn in PA.
I have seen others that have had good and bad luck on sets so it just varies by production company I guess. But in this case with the money Chrysler had tied up into this car they were not taking chances. Main charicter cars seem to take the brunt of the rough stuff. Christine, Dukes, Night Rider, Smokey and the Bandit, California Kid, all used multiple cars or were beat up in the stunt driving.

I liked the wraith car in its day I kind remember an attempt back in early 90's to produce a fiero based replica (Patriot?) but it never really got too far past prototyping/initial run. As i recall, it just lacked something that kept it from looking right.
As far as "B" movies go I hear theres a "Deathrace 3000" in the works set like 20 years after DR2k.

Nov. '05 Kit Car mag published a letter from Joe Pappas who was the program manager at Specialized Vehicles, the shop that was contracted to build the MS4 for PPG in the 80's. He confirms that they used a Huffaker Fiero GTU chassis that was lengthened and modified for the Chrysler 2.2 engine.
" The engines were from a batch of 25 special castings Chrysler did for us, whereby we picked the best for use in this vehicle. We then Machined the blocks to accept the Ford Cosworth BDG cylinder head with rally cams, billet crank, and cosworth pistons. Two Garrett T025 turbos were utilized with a single VERY large intercooler. If my memmory is correct, we built three running engines. One engine was destroyed when the dry sump-pump shaft broke at the Miami GP in 1985. The most troublesome aspect of the car was the transmission, mostly due to the high torque output. We built a series of transmissions of different configurations, finally settling on a spur gear design built in conjunction with Liberty Gears. In early testing the car reached a top speed of 195 MPH at TRC in Ohio and might have gone faster had the cylinder head not lifted off the block due to a bit too much boost!"

I like the "Wrath". It was for sale years ago for $4000. When I inquired about it it was just a VW pan with a steering wheel, 1 seat and a fiberglass shell. This is the way it was made or at least the one that was for sale that I saw. It would of been great to put custom interior in and make road legal! I never found out what happened to it.

That must have been one of the car doubles from the movie. This could have been used to make molds. They were all built on VW pans

It now resides in my hometown of Wichita Kansas. The guy that now owns it is restoring it to original movie style condition.
John Watson, creator of the best 355 kit on the market, created both of these cars and got royally screwed over by Chrysler. He showed me tons of documentation, as well as photos of the creation and awards he won for it, on a visit to his shop a year or so ago. He lives in North GA about 45 minutes from my hometown. I asked him if he would ever consider creating a Wraith kit and he flatly said no. In addition to the most accurate 355 kit, he also creates custom panels for PT Cruisers and the new Mustang.
