IMSA was a road racing series (now the sanctioning body for ALMS - American Lemans) in which the Fiero was run. The IMSA body is a very attractive "Widebody" conversion that was adapted to street going Fieros originally by DGP (Diversified Glass Products), who then sold the production to IRM, who recently sold to Fiero Warehouse... who is now producing the parts.
Wow, who's car is that. That may very well be my new favorite notchie. Now I'm convinced I want a widebody Notchie ... someday.
So what all would I need to carry on this mod, and how much do you guys think it would put me in the gutter? So is the "IMSA Widebody" jsut the Wide Front Fenders and the IMSA quarter panels from the Fiero Warehouse? So ~600 plus installation supply costs? Or am I missing something?
Thanks for filling me in.

I sold my IMSA body about 3 years ago for about $1800. Included nose, front fenders, rear fenders, rear valence/bumber, rocker panels. Then there is paint etc so you could be into it for 3 to 4K depending on your paint qaulity.
I am a big fan of the notch wide bodies. here is a couple old shots of the one i have. As far as I know it is the only 84 style widebody around.
Here is a really cool build thread that russ made on the widebody he built (still building i think) EDIT: Just saw MinnGreenGT has already posted this link

Unless you bought this from a guy in Indiana ther is one more I know of out there. It was owned by a guy named Steve in Indiana and was built before the panels went public. He worked for GM/AC Delco and bought the parts through them. He had to return the original panels to GM as part of the deal. Last I heard it was still around but I am not sure where I will kick around some and see if I can find out where it might be now.
You got a great looking car there in California!

see if you can find out if it is still around. I would love to see some pics of it. Mine was one of three turbo widebodies built in 83-84 and sold at the same dealership in CO. Still has just over 6k miles on it. I have never seen or heard of there being another 84 body style widebody around in a long time, so I would be interested to learn all I can about it, or perhaps get in touch with the owner to swap info or just shoot the breeze

There is one here in Bethlehem PA. It has a Super Duty in it, sad it is in not the best of conditions. I have been trying to buy it for a few years. The owner is a die hard fiero fan and will not part with it yet.

i think i knew of an 84 one, but haven't seen it in a good long time, like 10-12 years or so. seems like it was an 84, painted a light lavender (yeah) color. i saw it at an auction but it didn't sell. never saw it again.

I looked at the fierowarehouse link and noticed the wide body kits..
Does anyone know if this kit eaither like the car above or the widebody repo kit work on the 87-88 coupe/formula? I much prefer the later style front and rear bumper but I love the whole wide body look.. I'd liek to be able to mish both together without having early 84-86 bumpers or GT bumpers..

The Fiero Warehouse IRM kits will work on any year/body style but you won't be able to use you're "bumpers" as the stock ones mount much differently to the fenders. if you note in my WB build thread the WB bumpers join the fenders at compleatly different locations both in front and back. Also the FW kits are not the 84 style like Fieromonkeys. his is a very unique car which was built for Pontiac and only one or two remain. it was never a "kit" you could buy from anyone.

Is that the one that belongs to "stickman"? Don't know what his real name is...just that he and his wife went by "stickman and twig" on the old mailing list..
