Yes, the billet made valve covers are finally done.
They are sweet...
Price is $600 includes shipping.
I will be trying to get the blocks of aluminum cheaper in order to reduce costs. The mill chews on these things for 3 hours each. 3 phase is not fun to pay for I can assure you.
OK, I know the first thing someone is going to ask.. Where is the oil fill? Well, if you follow my 3800SC installs, you will notice I do not flip the valve covers, so I lont like the oil fill anyway. How do you put oil in ? There is a weld in oil fill solution for this problem. I it is included for $50 extra. What will I do? I will drill and TAP a 3/8 NPT into the SIDE of the valve cover, and use a -10 hose fitting with hose to fill the engine with oil. Like I really put oil in an engine real often to worry about this.

PS... For those that just have to have a fill point..

I tell you what, I will give you $300.00 for them and advertise them for you for free. That sounds like a good deal to me. I will be over this weekend to get them.

OMG Those are absolutely to die for. I would give my left nut to have a pair of those : well maybe not but those are incredible looking. Post some pics of them on a 3800 preferably in the car.

They sure as heck don't! They cast something similar in shape to the wheel then machine it down to the final dimensions. Look at your wheels. They are CAST. You can easily see the casting flaws and marks on the back side of the spokes where it is unecessary to machine them since that part isnt seen.

I believe he's talking about aftermarket billet wheels, such as HREs.

Nice work Lloyde. Are you gonna throw them in with turn key installs ?
Yes. When some one spends $12,500 on a turnkey install (which I have had about 5 of those in recent), the valve covers will be offered at $250 with any custom lettering that the mill machine and software can handle.
At $14,000 turnkey, they are FREE with the install. (only had 2 of these).
Here is another example of the lettering.

Hey Loyde, How much for a totally smooth outside? no lettering..... Any discount for previous turn-key installs?
Also had a kind off hand question... would TOG/SLP headers fit the getrag without modification if it had a different connecting pipe over the trans.? So I could buy the headers and just fab up a cross pipe to connect them?
Usually I would email this but these covers are so sweet I had to bump the thread... *bump*

I have a guy that has a better mill make an offer to do these for me now. I should have a new set in about 2-3 weeks.

What makes you think this guy has a "better" mill?
I would rate a 'mill' as better in comparsion to my mill. Mine is 14 years old, the controller is outdated compared to the easier to load and input data controllers that exist today. Multi tool changing mills and lathes reduce total time on the machine giving a better price in the end.
If we are charging $75 per hour mill time, and it takes 3 hours cutting, tool changing, changing the part in the fixture, this all adds to the price figure. Multi axis, multi tool machines reduce this time to 1.5 hours, and it equals savings in the end.
Then there is the marketing. If someone else is building the product, but you decide to market the product for them, answer all the questions that come in, and try to justify the cost in the end, there time involved in that person.
