Hey JCurry. Welcome to the forum. I am an hour west of San Antonio but will be working in Bryan every other week. Usually I am in my truck though. You just missed the North Texas Fieros Club "Spring Fling". Recap here. The North Texas Fiero Club would be your closest regular get together. They meet in Dallas/ Fort Worth. San Antonio's club, Alamo Area Fiero Owners, has an annual meet, The Round-up, usually in April. This year it is gonna be in June at Canyon Lake just south of Austin. Try and make it. Also, Fieros from across Texas, as well as Oklahoma and New Mexico gather yearly for the Red River Ruckus. The location moves yearly to give everyone a chance to be there and also so we can see more of our great state. This get together is in the fall and this years location has not yet been determined (that I am aware of). Watch for a thread. These meets attract Fiero owners from across the state and further. The nearest Fiero owners I can think of are CenTexIndy out of Gatesville and Revin out of Pflugerville just north east of Austin. I would like to meet you and borrow your Fiero, j/k . PM me your phone number and I will call you when I am in the Bryan area. I would bring my Fiero next week but am gonna haul a pressure washer for a co-worker.

I was wondering if anyone from the central Texas area had any shows or get togethers. I`m from Austin and I hardly ever see any Fieros around. I have seen a red Formula in Northwest Austin and I saw a black Fiero with a whaletail in Cedar Park north of Austin.

Hey TXGOOD, just saw your post in "It's A Fiero Thing......." In addition to what I posteed above, Alamo Area Fieros owners meet every last Sunday of the month. It would be this weekend. Austin Fiero owners attend as well as some from Corpus. How often I guess is subject to personal conflicts. If you think you can make it post back. I will get the details and directions for ya.

I live in Gatesville and am always in the Waco area...you can see my Indy at almost all of the Baylor sporting events...look for it in the media parking area.
I would love to get some stuff going, just let me know.

If you believe that 2 Fieros make an event, come on out. We'll shoot pool and have a lil' cook-out! Of course, everyone one else in the area could come to, cliff, revin, txgood etc...
I can try to figure out a day that would be good for everyone....

Tom Slick - would love to do something here, especially for those who can't make the one at Canyon Lake (which will be my first if you don't count the Indy Pace Car Reunion).
I am thrilled that I found this site...can't wait to start meeting some of y'all.
We have a Drive-In Movie Theatre here in Gatesville, and I KNOW that they would love to let us meet there...there is miniature golf there too. We can bring our own food and drinks and grills. Anybody think that would be fun? They are first run movies....

Floyd Casey Stadium parking lot...the south one...behind HEB. Shouldn't be a problem to meet there anytime. Or Cameron Park is ALWAYS a beautiful place. I am with you JCurry...let's get something going.

I`m up for a Waco run in the next couple of months. I haven`t had my car that long and I`m trying to take it on longer and longer trips until I find out just how dependable it is. There is a lot of wide open empty spaces between Austin and Waco. I still have to get a few parts before I attempt to take it too far from town.
Im in leander and it sounds like it would be a blast to me Ive got to get new wheel barings and brakes in ours (my dad owns it I work on it) befor it goes verry far. It would be awsom to get some input from some one with a little more experience on how the car should drive help me sort out my to do list

Welcome to the Forum Justin You will find quite a few very knowledgeable people on here. I have had all of my questions answered and very quickly. Let me know if you might need a part that you can`t find at the local auto parts store because I am just on the other side of Jonestown and I have a pretty good selection of parts mainly for a GT, but some of the parts will interchange.

Every other week from that date may be good for me but that weekend kicks off the summer season. Many have plans, family, friends, trips. Not usually good to hold a get together on a holiday. Let's pick a boring weekend.

Hey CenTex, seems like you know Waco well. Is there an old time drive in burger joint, with the car hop waitresses, ya know, the type hot rodders, street rodders, and classic car buffs seem to congregate at ? Usually on Saturday nights. It would make a great evening night cap after a Saturday afternoon cruise.

My in-laws live in Lago. I live east of 35. I'm looking for some parts for my GT. I'm trying to find a good front fascia and at least 3 GT wheels w/o any curb rash but in restorable condition.

I can't think of a car-hop place like that right now (been a long day), but there is the Elite Cafe (Elvis ate there) and it is a historical place that would probably welcome a group like ours. There is also George's Bar (Home of the Big O) - many of you country music listeners will be familiar with that place. I was also thinking about maybe downtown where there are a number of restaurants and bars and I guarantee that the Fieros will be noticed there.
I know that I am booked for Saturday May 27 (Memorial Day Weekend). But I am currently free pretty much after that (of course that can change at any moment).
Let me know if any of those places sound fun...George's may even help to sponsor something....I can talk to any of them if I need to.
This is starting to sound fun,
Tim

, I know. I live in the hill country. Very beautiful, nice roads, fun curves. Instead of the suggested route (10 to San Antonio, 35 north...) I would go Hwy 16 through Fredericksburg, Llano, to Goldthwaite, then east on 84 through Gatesville to Waco.
I have noticed that no matter what kind of car enthusiests are gathered, a Fiero always gets attention from them. Even more so when they see where the motor is . Kinda flattering. I have never done it in a group and thought it would be fun for us to steal the show from the locals. Plus I like all fine autos and we may attract more Fieroholics. Realistically, I would have to be listed as probable. I want to do alot to my 87 GT for the Roundup. I have ordered a promising set of reproduction quarter windows for it. While the old ones are out it is getting new paint. So off come the wing, mirrors, tail lights, other lights and whatever else I would rather not just be masked over. I also need to install this illuminated surround I have......
but still need to shop a stereo. Complete speaker upgrade and factory performance sound option install (pulling the dash to do it factory). I have yet to install my Mr Mikes seat covers as I am using 84 seats with speakers. Never decided how I am gonna utilize the speakers...which need to be mated to the stereo. I might make them CB speakers on one side, stereo tweeter on the other. Still not sure. Perhaps I can get the 87 in the paint shop when we meet and can drive up in the 88 GT T Top. Only I bought it a year ago and still have not burned a full tank of gas in it. It's nice but I would have to get to "trust" it. Any date we pick please keep my work schedule in mind as I so want to come. The Texas Fiero scene has a major rally every Spring (Round Up...late this year) and every Fall (Red River Ruckus). It needs another in the middle of Summer. Say at a different lake every year or a portion of the coast. Even one of our fine rivers.

I have not been on Lake Belton. Was just looking at it on MapQuest. It is shaped similar to Medina Lake which gets it's shape from the water being around hills. Beautiful. Is Lake Belton the same ?

Yeah - there are a lot of hills in the area. Not sure how the lake was formed (man-made or natural), but it is beautiful. Have to make a drive there on Tuesday for a shoot and I will try to remember to take my still camera and snap some quick shots and post 'em.

I am currently a student attending Texas A&M in College Station/ Bryan. I posted awhile back about Fiero owners in the area but got no hits. Although school will be out before Memorial Day weekend I only live in Dallas and would consider the trip to meet with you guys. It sounds like a great time as usual with Fiero nuts. I would also like to say that if the turnout of "local" owners is good, perhaps we could meet a few times during the year rather than just once. I know it's ambitious to say that already but I thought I would at least mention it, as I would be more than willing to set aside a day or two every couple of months to meet with any owners that can make it. As you can tell I am suffering from serious Fiero withdrawls, as I haven't had my car with me for a year now, and I certainly haven't has the chance to admire Fieros that others have worked so hard on. I am all for this, and lets keep this thread updated.
Thanks--Nathan

WHAT!!!!! Another get-together???? Waco is only 2 hours away from the rather active NTFC. Our Spring Fling last week end was awsome with about 15 cars and 20 ro so participants. I wish you guys who are newbies to this forum could have been there - go here if you haven't looked at the fun you missed:
I am sure that if you all want to organize another meet in the late May time frame many of the NTFC people will jump in for the fun - you can count me in, I know.
BTW,. welcome to the forum and the fun!

Sorry Jeff, but unfortunately a front facia and wheels are two of the things I don`t have. You might check with Loyde of FastFieros because he is just up in Dallas and he has all kinds of cars. I`m not sure if he sells parts off of them or just the whole car but I`m sure someone could chime in who has bought stuff from him.
You will need: meeting place/ show off your car area a nice drive route ( what we all really come for) a lunch place ( could be during the route) Hotel ( cheap) and easy to get to And fieros
If you plan it we will come

Sunday, April 30th, the day after tomorrow. Denny's restaurant, Hwy 90 and Military Drive, San Antionio. The drive there and the drive back. Denny's restaurant. Avaiable. Fieros ? It is the Alamo Area Fiero Owners monthly meet. We are finalizing Round Up IX.V.

Nooooo! Not Memorial Day! I want to come but there is absolutely no way I can take off anytime on our busiest holiday weekend (at the state park). Could we maybe do it on Sunday the 25th, or the weekend before? The 24th is the NTFC meeting, so it shouldn't be that day. It'll be hard to get off on this short of notice, but as long as it isn't a holiday I can probably manage it.
Please?

(Waco's about an hour from me too, if yall ever want to do something -not on a weekend-, spur of the moment whenever, let me know)
