Getting ready to leave the puppy watches as Mark makes a last minute adjustment on the battery cable: The rain then starts to come down during the trip back: Stopping for lunch the puppy watches in the Eclipse as she pulls in her new blue beauty: Alayne, not yet fully used to getting into and out of a Fiero bumps her knee on the vent getting out...OUCH!! I guess that is all part of the initiation of getting a Fiero.

On the way back home we had two scary incidents. The first one was when we came into Northwood NH off rt 202 onto rt 4 before Concord NH and had stopped at one of the stop lights. A jeep then came barrelling along behind us and obviously didn't see that we were all stopped and at the last minute was at least smart enough to swerve to the right near the curb so as not hit Alayne and Jordan who were behind me in the blue coupe. I watched in horror in the rearview mirror as I realized that he wasn't stopping and was ready to have to jump out in case of impact. I almost lost quite a lot right there and i am not talking about any of the cars of course. Then as we were almost home on I-89 we saw an accident as an SUV ahead of us suddenly had hydroplaned and crashed into the passing lane guard rails and ended up facing south on the north bound lane directly in the way of the on coming traffic. I quickly pulled over and ran accross the lanes avoiding from getting hit by passing cars and helped them. The mother who was driving and the daughter in the passenger seat were both in total shock and I could not get them to respond to anything. After a few seconds I realized that were out of it for the moment and we had to do something fast. The mother had her cell phone in her hand but wasn't doing anything but just sitting in the drivers seat starring forward out the windshield. I finally got the mother out of the drivers seat and into the back seat area and quickly climbed in. I had to rock the vehicle back and forth to lurche the vehicle off the guard rails as the rear fender on the passenger side was all torn up and hung up on the guard rails. As there was no break down lane they were possibly only minutes away from being hit head on. In fact as I was standing outside the vehicle with the drivers door open trying to talk to the mother at one point another lady in a camaro that had finally also stopped to check out the situation suddenly yelled frantically over to me to look out. As I quickly looked up I saw the on coming traffic and then quickly noticed a maroon Jetta that was bearing down on our spot and was heading right for us at high speed as they apparently couldn't pull over in the other lane as other cars were there in the way and with the heavy rain they were sliding a bit trying to brake. I quickly closed the SUV's drivers door, leaned back and also stepped my left foot back a bit against the SUV just as the Jetta slid and whistled right by me and the SUV and I swear I could almost feel the air from the side mirror of the Jetta brush against my shirt as they were that close to hitting us. I finally got the SUV off the rails and quickly drove it up to where there wasn't any guard rails and off into the grass area out of harms way. What a way to get a Fiero!

Yes, he is a Bichon and he loves to go for rides Alaynes Fiero is a 5 speed which is what she wanted. It has 113k on it if I remember right but it is very clean and runs sweet. The 5 speed shifts like it just came off the show room floor. She has been driving it everywhere since we brought it home and even went to a local cruise in with it this afternoon with my Dad and I and the kids. We turned a lot of heads as the crowd got to see TWO blue '87 Fieros, a fastback and a notchback, pull into the display field..followed of course by my newly custom painted '88 That was pretty cool as she has only had her blue '87 a couple of days now and she has already been able to take it to her first cruise-in We would like to say thanks again to Mark, it is an awesome Fiero!

Looks like the paint buffed out well. What did she use ? I saw those pic's and it made me go out & buff the front hood on my coupe !
OK, it is called "3M Perfect-It ll Rubbing Compound Fine Cut" and runs about $20. bucks a bottle. The stuff is pretty amazing and goes quite a ways. This bottle we have had since last summers shows and you all know how many Fieros we have
So, are you gonna take over her Fiero like you did Jordans..??
you're one to open your mouth smooth. are you gonna ever get your car done? what about paint? primer or spray paint don't count. v-8 choptop by smooth. there's a good one.

Careful, moving that vehicle was illegal in ... ummm. 50 states. Generally, if the vehicle comes to rest at the outside lane, it's not to be moved. You also have to be careful, you can do serious spinal dammage moving people who are in shock like that. Glad it all worked out, but you could have been in for years of legal trouble. Basic rule of thumb, never touch the victim unless they request that you do so, and even then you can still be liable if they were not in a condition to make that descision.

There is a big difference between speaking your mind and then being rude, hatefull and insulting when doing it. You should know though, right? And you can go right ahead and call my story whatever you want Mizer. Lets see, for witnesses there were the two people in the vehicle (though they were pretty out of it, still), the lady in the camaro and of course lets not forget Alayne and Jordan in the blue Fiero. I was well aware of that which is why I didn't physically move them myself, I was just able to get through to her enough in her dazed state to finally convince her to get in the back and then helped her as she went between the front seats so I could move the vehicle from out of the way of oncoming traffic before it getting hit. It wasn't involved with another vehicle or anything like that so there was no need to worry about the police wanting to see where it was sitting and wanting to do an investigation before it was moved. Besides, if I had left them there and done nothing where they were only dazed but other than A-OK and uninjured and they had then been killed or seriously injured from being hit head on, I would have had a hard time living with that knowing that I could have helped and instead chose to done nothing. It was my call to make in those very few quick moments and that was the call I made after quickly accessing the situation and believeing even now that it was still the correct one.
